Revolution

Tell me Mr. President

How long can you ignore

The voices of the future

Knocking on the White House door?

Even shielded by my privilege

I can see as plain as day

Something is very broken

Deep within the USA.

All this fear and all this hatred

Runs round rampant in the street

Fraying lines and blurring edges

Where protest and violence meet.

And though I have no more to guide me

Than my courage and my words

I will leave no ground unbroken

As I ensure my voice is heard.

And though I cannot speak for many

I can speak from what I've learned

Which is that love can persevere

To build back bridges that were burned.

And what you aim to separate

We will only reunite

To stand as one united nation

Prepped and ready for a fight.

So tell me Mr. President

How long can you ignore

The voices of the future

Breaking down the White House door?
