Escher saw something strange.
The whole situation was strange, he supposed. How often do buses go flying through the air and crash into the sides of buildings? Not that often. Maybe it was just his rattled brains trying to make sense out of nonsense, but Escher could have sworn he saw something moving through the shattered bus windows. Something small and shadowy with one eye that fixed Escher with a vacant stare.
He barely had time to see it before he blacked out.
