Cherries are scattered around

Leaves bunch up on the ground

Such a beautiful place

Filled with so much dread

With so many bodies

Deposited on the soft soil

Mixed with the dark red liquid

Making ground seem black

Just like the darkness

That consumed us all.

I picked up a cherry

Squeezing it in my hand

Letting the liquid stream off of me

Mimicking the blood coming toward me.

Got here too late

So much life taken away

Just from one mistake

But life can come anew

From the sprouts coming up

Just like a mistake

Can be forgiven

And be made up for.
