Trickling Bright:

Written for Twelve Shots of Summer: Quarter Queller - Week 10...

The flicker of the light is burning me,
In the storm, I see the haze around me,
I look for the exit, an escape from the pain,
But I feebly have to accept the end.

I can hardly breathe, but I stubbornly resist,
I have to keep going, I have to keep standing,
I can't let go, my muscles are aching...
The light is dying, the light keeps flickering...

Everything is hazy, my senses are thinning,
My throat is scorched, the bottle in my grip slips,
Everything is spinning, everything is darkening,
I don't even know where I am...

Am I coughing? Am I laughing?
I sway to the motion of the flames...
Where's the music? Where am I dancing?
The party's hardly started, and I can't tell my feet to my hands...

Fire is alight, fire is embracing me...
I don't want to cave in, I don't know what to do...
Everything is going way too fast for me,
Where...? Am I even standing...?

Everything is turning dark, the fire is strong...
My hands are gone, my feet have melted...
My head is nothing but a rock, my nose is burned off...
My ears are full of cotton, slowly bleeding out...

The blaze slows down... captured in a blur,
I don't even know when I hit the ground,
But here I am, an obstruction to all,
An instrument cracked my hourglass.

This is the end, they said,
This is our night, they said,
But it was never my time, they know that,
I fade to the smoke in my lungs... I'm gone.

I hope you enjoyed my poem! =3

EeveeGen9988: Hey, everyone! I hope you don't mind another poem your way! ...Wow, I've been doing poems a lot lately, haven't I? But I'm trying to practice my poetry writing skills, and lately I haven't been in a story writing mood... and usually I do poetry whenever that happens! Heh... *sweatdrops*

So I'm back on iPad and mini-keyboard editing once again for the next two weeks now, so please bear with me.
