Such a great, yet terrible thing

Saves a life, takes a life

Pierces me, gives joy to foes, to evil

To see my friend, my leader

Broken and lifeless

On the blood-soaked field

Why would you think

That this would protect me

That this would keep me from harm

By leaving me alone, blind, and stumbling in the dark

You think you have liberated me from pain

Yet only the physical kind

The mental kind is now destroying me

From the inside out

What would lead you to believe

That I could live without your light

Without your strength

Without your guidance

Without your wisdom

Without your hope

Without my soul

You left us all in pain, in ruins, in blindness

For the sake of saving us

From all the physical pain that the world of evil could give

Without a thought to how much our souls, our hearts, would suffer
