I am going to start the story when I turned 25 years old. I was born the daughter of an emperor and had a happy life as a princess. However, there is not much to tell about it, except for the fact that my father taught me how to fight, so I could be able to defend myself.

I was obsessed with staying young and not dying, so I searched for a way to achieve this goal. After years of searching, I have finally found it, but I had to perform a ritual. However, it came at a cost, my humanity. I had to become a monster, but I did not see what was the big deal until it was too late.

I was in the middle of the ritual when I was "killed." One of my father's soldiers was walking by my room when he heard me. He entered my room, and I could see the fear in his eyes. "What are you doing, Milady?! What would your parents, the emperor and empress, would say?!" He said as he tried to destroy my alter. I stepped in the way and told him to stop, but he refused and ended up stabbing me. We did not know it at the time, but that finished the ritual and my transformation.

I fell on the floor and bled out. I actually thought I was going to die. In a way, I did and was reborn. I felt my body changing and had this uncontrollable thirst. My eyes turned blood red and my fangs came out. I jumped up and attacked that soldier. I never saw that much fear in his eyes until that moment, but I did not care. I had to drink, and I drained him. He was my first kill, and I did not know it at the time, but he became my first familiar. That is what happens when I drain someone. He or she will become my familiar.

I also saw all his memories while I was drinking his blood. He was supposed to become my husband. My father could not marry me off to some prince to make an alliance because he already married off my sisters, and I was getting too old. He said that I should be married by now, and the only men worthy enough in the empire to marry his daughter were noble knights. I still have his soul with me. I also have my own army, but that is a story for another time.
