What makes workers important

A question we should ask

The architects and laborers

amaze us with their task

They build these splendorous marvels

Ingenuity beyond our days

Determined hands in motion

Concrete, glass, steel and paint

Some come from different countries

where skills don't grant great pay

To America they flock in masses

with dreams of better days

Some commute to work on a school bus

They might not even own a car

Through any type of weather

from morning's light til dark

The beauty of this structure

It's design transcends them all

Through stormy days or sunny

The Muse erects in, awe

Their precision overwhelms us

Fulfill their job, well done

Committed to sole purpose

Skilled craftsmen, labor on
