This is the trial of a Siliconoid on Trillitus for the crime of intentionally spreading the Biomass on the previously uninfected planet.

Date: 3 eons, 14,160 eras, 5 elapses, and 8382 time units

Master of the Court: This should simply amount to formalities. So let's get on with it. Our defendant is Maubeio, Siliconoid, male, ten elapses of age, born on Kondoria, living until recently on Kon. Is this the person before us?

Advocate of the Accused: Yes.

Opponent of the Accused: Yes.

Master: The crime in question is the intentional spreading of the Biomass on Trillitus. Is this correct?

Advocate: Yes.

Opponent: Yes.

Master: Okay. Opponent of the Accused, you may bring your case before the public.

Opponent: Records show that the Accused, Maubeio, was living on Kon at the time of the outbreak. He left the planet before it was quarantined on a solo flight. From there, he disappears from the public record for over four elapses. Who knows what he did in that time? At approximately 5 elapses and 7,760 time units, he requested entry to Trillitus. A recording between him and a representative of the Space Port Management Authority shows that he claimed to have left Kon before the infection and had engine troubles, which is why it took him so long to get to YM1-10-1. He was admitted. After a short stay in the space port, he proceeded to travel extensively throughout the planet in a span of only about 500 time units. Biomass infections have been documented in all of the cities visited by Maubeio. Finally, I would like to note that medical exams have confirmed that Maubeio is infected with the Biomass.

Master: Thank you. Advocate of the Accused, have you a retort?

Advocate: The Opponent of the Accused claimed, but did not substantiate, that Maubeio was living on Kon at the time of the outbreak.

Master: Can this be substantiated?

Opponent: Displayed now, in view of the public, the license to fly small space craft obtained by the accused after the date 1 elapses, and 17,810 time units, which is the a date after the report on Patient Zero but before the quarantine of Rokask.

Master: Advocate, have you another retort?

Advocate: The Opponent of the Accused claimed, but did not substantiate, that Maubeio told space port management that he left Kon before the outbreak.

Master: Can this be substantiated?

Opponent: We will play the recording.

Solo flight from Kon, requesting entry to space port Zymfreyna. Request acknowledged. Flights from Kon are not being accepted at this time. Please, I need to refuel my ship. We cannot accept ships from Kon due to the risk of infection. Did I say Kon? I meant Kondoria. Your call tag clearly indicates that you're from Kon. Okay, okay, I'm from Kon. But I left before the infection. It took me so long to get here because of my engine troubles, which is why I'm so low on fuel. Besides, in the time it takes to get from Kon to here, I would have been dead if I was infected. Scans do indicate that you are almost out of fuel. We can let you in on the condition that you undergo a full physical exam and that your ship and belongings will be fully incinerated, just in case they carry the infection. Anything not to starve to death in space.

Master: Advocate, have you another retort?

Advocate: I would like to remind the public that the accused may have been ignorant to the start date of the infection. I would also like to display the results of they physical exam mentioned in the recording. As you can see, he had brackish reflexes and low blood sugar, but nothing was reported to indicate infection. On another topic, the Opponent of the Accused claimed, but did not substantiate, that the accused traveled extensively.

Master: Can this be substantiated?

Opponent: Displayed is the transportation record of the Accused, obtained by digital documentation of every time he used his ID to access public transportation.

Master: Advocate, have you another retort?

Advocate: The Opponent of the Accused claimed, but did not substantiate, that there was an infection in every city visited by the accused.

Master: Can this be substantiated?

Opponent: Displayed is the transportation record cross referenced with the list of hospitals reporting at least one case of Biomass-like symptoms.

Master: Advocate, have you another retort?

Advocate: The Opponent of the Accused claimed, but did not substantiate, that a medical report confirmed that the accused is infected with the Biomass.

Master: Can this be substantiated?

Opponent: Displayed for the public to see is the medical record of Maubeio. There was evidence of DNA associated with the disease in his blood and Biomass macrophages acting as his immune system. Scans of his central nervous system indicate novel neural networks, assumed to be how the disease is able to manipulate his behavior. Astonishingly, his mental faculties have been preserved, but that is not sufficient to clear him of the diagnosis.

Master: Advocate, have you another retort?

Advocate: None of this evidence can be construed as proof. This ends my chain of retort.

Master: Opponent, have you a retort?

Opponent: I believe the evidence speaks to the truth. This ends my chain of retort.

Master: Then unless either the Opponent or Advocate move otherwise, we will bring the trial to a public vote.

Master: The vote concluded unanimously that the accused should be treated as guilty. He will be treated not as a citizen, but as any fully converted member of the Biomass.
