Asleep at my desk I dreamt
I was standing on a cliff's edge
There were no bars, no railing spied
Yet I had no sense of dread

With the confidence of bungee cables
With no hesitation or fear
I leapt from the edge, with no sound
And I awoke to only tears

When I recounted to my friends
In sleep what I had done
I changed the story, as I do
To something silly and fun

But now the dream persists
Like a premonition both day and night
And I wonder if, at the end
I'll jump when the time feels right
