When Georgina saw the mistletoe in the distance, up on the living room door's entrance, she knew she wanted Ben to kiss her underneath it.

Ben, her boyfriend for five years. Ben the man she knew she wanted to be with forever.

But where was Ben?

She looked around for him, her stocky built boyfriend, but he couldn't be seen anyway.

"Hmm..." she sighed, and continued talking to her friends at the party.

It was quite a lively one, of mid twenty to early thirty year olds, and Ben was panicking as his best friend, Luke, tried to calm him down.

"Hey, hey, man... just do it... just go under the mistletoe."

"And what if she says no?" he said, thinking of the worse possible outcome. Luke only gave Ben a blank expression.

"The night before Christmas? You really think she'll just leave you there, under the mistletoe?"

Ben may look strongly built, but he was all yellow inside. He was hiding away behind his guy friends, as they tried to usher him forward to make the move... but he just was trembling at the thought.

"If you don't do it, I will." Luke finally said and Ben gasped, nearly choking on the thought.

"NO! NO!"

"Then go..." Luke said, waving his hand in the direction of the beautiful Georgina and Ben gulped.

Georgina had always been a giddy girl, especially around Ben... but she also was much more attractive than him, and he wondered why she was even with him?

He wandered into the next room, just bumping pass someone at the door, and froze up as he heard a kind voice say with a laugh.

"Georgina!" he said, realizing he was underneath the mistletoe and quickly bent down on one knee, presenting the ring, and everyone looked over surprised.

"Benny...?" Georgina said.

Ben suddenly realized that her voice was coming from away in the distance, and looked up quickly to see it was Martha, his girlfriend's best friend, who was under the mistletoe with him.

All the girls giggled and Martha gave Ben two pats on the head, saying.

"Well, that definitely ups the ante of a kiss."

Ben quickly stumbled to kneel before Georgina who was blushing as red as a tomato, the girl quickly hurrying over to him and he begged.

"Georgina... I didn't mean her!"

"I know, I know!" she laughed, giggling uncontrollably.

"Will you... marry m-"

"Yes!" Georgina gushed, and pulled Ben up to his feet, kissing him deeply.

When they parted everyone clapped and Martha only just sighed, saying with a chuckle.

"Always the bridesmaid, never the bride..."

"Well, would you look who's underneath the mistletoe with you."

She quickly turned to see Luke was standing under the leaves beside her and she only rolled her eyes, grinning.

"You're lucky it's Christmas."

"I'm lucky it's you." he said.

The two kissing for a few seconds, both giggling awkwardly afterwards before turning back to Ben and Georgina, going over to congratulate the happy new fiances.

A happy Christmas after all.
