It was a boring day at work. No clients came in, and there were no old cases to work on.

So, I decided to try something; I decided to try and open a safe—with my feet! I had seen it done in a movie once.

I have a combination safe on the floor of my office. I lied down and put my feet on the dial. (I was already barefooted.)

I tried first with one foot, then the other foot, then finally with both feet. But I couldn't do it.

"That looks kinky!," a friendly voice said.

I looked up; a girlfriend had entered my office. I first met her during one of my jobs.

"Hi, Marsha. I suppose you're wondering what I'm doing."

"I know. But you're doing it all wrong."

"I am?"

"Here, let me show you."

She sat in a chair and took off her shoes and socks.

"You've done this before?"

"I'm and FBI agent; I'm trained in all kinds of things!"

Barefooted, she lied where I was lying and put her foot on the dial.

"OK, the combination is-"

"-Don't tell me, let me find out."

"Boy, I'm glad you're on our side!" She giggled.

Using her toes, she turned the dial. She worked slowly, feeling the clicks. In a couple of minutes, she had the door open.

"That was incredible, honey! Ever had to do that in a real situation?"

"Once. I had to rip a $20 pair of black stockings!"

I giggled. "Horrors! You'll have to teach me how to do that, sometime."

"Sure, Jenny. But not right now. I just dropped by to say hi. I've got to get going, soon."

We talked for a few minutes. Then she put her shoes back on and left.

Marsha did eventually teach me the technique—and I actually used it, a couple times!
