Listen up and listen well,

I've heard a story I must tell!

It starts with fear as most tales do,

Of creatures bigger and stronger than you.

They track the halls and scratch your door,

Mouths of fang and hands of claw.

Stay hidden child for I have seen

These beasts of old be awfully mean.

Without a thought they'll grab and snatch,

Chase and chase until they catch

Unwitting children, stupid too,

For they did not know what to do.

Hide your face and shield your eye,

For if you look as they pass by,

Never again will you be found,

On earth, above or under ground.
