It's time for bed, little one,
The day has gone to bed.
Off to bed with you now,
My little sleepyhead.

You have grown weary
From today's activity.
Lay your head, close your eyes,
Let all your worries flee.

The sun retires as night falls,
The moon now takes his place.
Let sleep envelope you,
To hold you in its embrace.

Now dream sweet dreams, dear,
May you sleep in peace.
May there not be nightmares
To cause your face to crease.

Start Chorus

The wind brushes the chimes,
The crickets echo in reply,
But no melody is sweeter
Than a mother's lullaby.

The wolves sing low and sonorous
To the moon up on high.
But no song of love is warmer
Than a mother's lullaby.

End Chorus

The gentle whistling of the wind
Is very calm and soothing.
But no better song gives you peace
That only a mother can sing.

Playing wild, free, and strong
Is the song of the sea.
The crickets have come out
To play their symphonies.

The wind blows a whistling sigh,
The trees dance and sway.
The frogs give a croaking beat,
The fireflies light the way.

The stars in the sky shine bright,
The moon beams in a motherly gaze
On you as you sleep tonight,
Anointing you with her silver rays.

Start Chorus

The wind brushes the chimes,
The crickets echo in reply,
But no melody is sweeter
Than a mother's lullaby.

The wolves sing low and sonorous
To the moon up on high.
But no song of love is warmer
Than a mother's lullaby.

End Chorus

Do not stir yourself, my love,
It is hours yet till light.
Play on in your happy dreams
Throughout the night.

Sleep on, my bonny child,
Till the breaking of dawn.
When you wake you'll feel refreshed;
Your exhaustion will be gone.

Do not fear, my beloved,
I'll be here sitting nearby,
As you nod off to sleep
To your mother's lullaby.

Author's Note: Here's my second lullaby poem - with more of a song format. This is probably my most favorite poem/song that I've written. I'm quite proud of it. Took me about two days writing it and two more days editing it. I'm quite happy with the end result.

I hope you enjoy this new contribution. Feedback or likes would be greatly appreciated. I wish you guys a splendid week.

Jehovah Bless,
