I can't believe how long it's been already since the day I met Thanatos. Right now, it's Tuesday June 11th, 2002. I'm 27 years old. My fifth child has just been born.
The only reason I have my journal NOW is because by coincidence, Nyssa was given the room I used to have before Thanatos and I got married, and she found my diary tucked away in my wardrobe. I reread the entries and decided to write an update. I have five children now, and I'll tell you a bit about them:
My oldest child is called Travis. He is five years old right now and very lively. He spends most of his time with his father, who, I fear, is influencing him negatively. Thanatos is still my husband and I still love him very much, but he has grown darker lately. I'm afraid of him passing on too much of his darkness on to little Travis, who idolises him. I've tried to get between them, but I've been so busy recently, what with my fourth pregnancy and then looking after another tiny baby. Besides, I don't think Travis would take kindly to that. He does love me-I know he does-but he doesn't idolise me like he does his father. I have also spoken to Thanatos about him but he keeps changing the subject when I bring it up. So I have to just keep an eye on them and hope for the best.
Then there are the little twins: Phineas and Taylor, boy and girl respectively, both three. They are the sweetest children ever, and though Taylor has autism, that doesn't stop either of them from getting into mischief. Even Loki agrees that they're two of the biggest troublemakers he's ever seen, and that's coming from someone who deceives other people for a living. Phineas is also the most caring brother I could have hoped for. He barely ever leaves Taylor's side and he's the one who most knows what to do when she has a meltdown. Thanatos and I have researched autism as best we can, but our research is nothing compared to Phineas's brotherly instincts.
Next, there's Nyssa. She's two years old and a toddler drama queen. She's not as bratty as some kids I've had the misfortune to meet, but she IS very dramatic. She keeps trying to "fight" her father, who of course always loses on purpose. It's quite adorable to see her use her fire ability (even though she can't make much more than a small, practically harmless fireball at this age) on the king of fire. Unfortunately, she sometimes plays a little too roughly with Phineas and Taylor, which is ironic, since she's the younger one out of them. She plays better with Travis, which, again, is ironic.
Finally, there's tiny Mitchell. He's only a week old, so he doesn't have much personality yet. I HAVE noticed that he's actually a fairly quiet baby. He's definitely quieter than his siblings were at this age, so I have high hopes for him as he gets older.
I love my family so much. My husband, my children, my brother, my nieces and nephews.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I have a job now. It's with an organisation known as Empire, based in Cliffordstown. It's a secret organisation that deals with large scale and/or high-profile crime. Murders, petty thefts, assaults, we leave those to the police. But the theft of a priceless diamond? The serial killings of politicians? THOSE we handle. I work in the computer science department, which processes data. It may sound boring, but trust me, it really isn't.
Anyway, I think that's all I've got time for today. This journal is a precious keepsake for me, so I think I'll hide it away in my wardrobe and show my children when they're old enough to understand and appreciate it. Who knows… Maybe I'll inspire one of my kids to write one of their own.
And maybe one day, I'll write an update.
But until then, goodbye :)
