The door to the safe house creaked as Jason entered. He looked around, making sure it was safe before continuing farther into the almost empty room.
"It's alright, we're alone." Came a female voice from the far corner of the room.
Jason made his way over to his companion who was working at the only table in the small safe house. She had couple bags sitting on the table and appeared to be packing.
"Did Max check in yet?" He asked
"No. But look at these beauties." She pulled out two white hand revolvers and half a dozen boxes of ammo. "I had to take on hoard of about 50 of em single handed just to get these." She went on, excitement and pride now in her voice. But Jason just ignored her.
"He was supposed to be here by now." Said Jason, now concerned.
"Oh I'm sure he's fine." The women said, going back to packing the bags.
"Kira…"
"Come on Jason we need to pack." Kira said without looking up
"We are not leaving him." Jason said sternly.
"Jason they are getting closer. If we don't leave soon we will never make it out."
"So what are we supposed to do, just leave him here to die?" Jason asked furiously.
"If we don't leave now then we die. The kid doesn't have long anyways, even if we were to get him out." Kira shot back.
"Well I don't care. I am going out to look for Max. You can leave without me." Jason turned to leave, but before he took a step, Kira grabbed his arm.
"Look, Jay we are so close. We are almost safe. As soon as we reach the boats we can leave this place and never have to worry about them again. We can have a normal life again. Please don't go looking for the kid. Forget about Max." Kira pleaded.
"I can't do that Kira." Jason said, pulling away from her.
"Jay!...Jay!…..Jason!" Kira called after him, but Jason didn't turn back. The Safe house door creaked as he left.
