"Don't- don't leave me, you can't leave me. No!"

"I'm sorry, but it has to be this way, you know that."

She gasped and choked.

"I can't do this, not without you, please!"

His tears were soaking his face.

She clutched his small hands.

She wheezed.

He cried harder.

"Why, why can't you stay. It's not fair. I haven't been with you long enough."

"Relax, it's okay. It's okay, I promise. Remember the times we did share, remember the memories that we did make, remember all of me. I'll do the same for you, you won't be alone."

"I feel alone, I'm scared, please. Please."

"Momma, momma...please no."

Her vision was clouding. Just a little more.

"I love you. Do not worry, my small one. I promise it will get better. Promise."

"I love you momma...I love you…"

He shoulders shaked relentlessly.

"Life isn't fair, I hate it. I hate it!"

"Sweetheart, life was fair to me. It gave me you, it gave me my family. It gave me the greatest thing of all. It gave me life."

"But it's taking that life away!"

She struggled to open her eyes.

She held his small face.

"But it is a wonderful life that I got to share with you."

"But, momma-"

"I lived."

She died.

"...I'll miss you…"

He wept to himself, crouched over her.
