Gone are the days where I could play free in the fields of grass,
Carefree and seeing the beauty of the natural world,
As a little child,
So naïve.
Gone are the days where I was raised,
Taken care of,
And every whim taken care of.
Giggling the day away.
Gone are the days where I would ride my go-kart,
Not worrying whether I got dirty or not,
Free to explore,
And see the vast skies, so blue.
Gone are the days where I was protection,
Hidden from corruption,
Believing everyone was good,
Thinking that no harm would ever come to me.
Gone are the days where I could dream,
Not dragged down from the vast amount of school,
I so passionately hate.
Where there were no closed gates.
Gone are the days where the sun shone so bright,
My fate chosen by I,
Where I didn't fear the night,
Where I didn't succumb to my fear.
