It's odd how humans find an essential need in an identity,
A force that attracts us to find our own path and personality.
From a child to an adult, from young to old,
We strive to understand who we are.
Identity could mean so many things, from how you act to what type of music you like.
We build the world, yet we rarely build ourselves.
A skyscraper is merely a skyscraper, a trunk is merely a trunk,
Yet humans are so much more.
We never describe ourselves using one single unit of measurement.
We do it by saying things that we, individually, deem important,
So many grapple with this concept,
Unknowing of the simplicity that could be achieved.
