Home

Within these walls there are memories,
Some good, some bad, some falling in the cracks between.
We've been through fights and arguments,
Through joy and love,
Through sorrowful nights alone with our thoughts.

But though we may fight, love always remains.
We've been through it all together,
Through secrets and strife, through life and death.
Sometimes the door opens and a piece of our heart leaves,
That door slamming shut in a mask of rage, or sometimes closed softly by defeat.

Sometimes we leave, venturing out into the world.
But we rest in the knowledge that the door will open again,
Bringing home our souls, if even just for a time.
Because in the end, love binds us,
Always driving us to return back to our origins.
For we know that when we're all together,
This house becomes a home.
