Within the next couple days, Elizabeth got together with Carolyn and Sarah.
"What did your friends say about meeting us at the birthday party?" Carolyn asked.
"They're excited about it. Nicole, mostly."
"What about your other friends? Are they bringing anything to the party?" Sarah asked.
"I don't think so. You girls will have to meet the maid and all that. They didn't accept my other friends before you because they weren't born with money and wouldn't let me see them again, I don't want to do the same with you girls."
"That's too bad. When was the last time you saw your other friends?" Carolyn asked.
"I haven't seen Amy and Diana since then, but I don't remember how long ago that was," Elizabeth answered.
"That's a shame. Those people who help you with the mansion don't sound very nice about that," Sarah said.
"I know, but that's how they look at things to make sure it's acceptable," Elizabeth said.
"I hope that if we're not accepted by them, I would still like to keep in touch with you," Carolyn said.
"I'd like that, but I haven't been in touch with Diana and Amy the last time it happened or been in touch over phone calls," Elizabeth told them.
"Wow. I'm happy I wasn't born with money," Sarah said.
"Me neither," Carolyn agreed.
"It's not easy," Elizabeth said.
"You have all the good things like you want to can spend on stuff," Sarah said.
"I know, but I'm not that spoiled like some of the other people my age are when it comes to expensive stuff. I like to save my money," Elizabeth said.
"That's a good thing," Carolyn said.
"Yes, it is. I'd still like you to meet the others before the party if that works," Elizabeth said.
"I like the idea," Carolyn said.
"Me too," Sarah replied.
"I'll see if that's all right with them and then I will get back to you," Elizabeth said.
"We'll look forward to it, depending on how your friends would react to meeting us together instead of separately," Sarah told Elizabeth.
"They're not like the staff at my mansion. Their families aren't that strict like it is at my mansion, and they are very lucky for that," she said.
"Wow. I'm looking forward to meeting your friends and check out that mansion. I've never been in a mansion before," Carolyn said.
"Me neither," Sarah agreed.
"If they accept you, that is," Elizabeth said.
"I'd hate to see you loose more friends," Carolyn said.
"I agree. I'm sorry that I lied to you when we first met and became friends," Elizabeth apologized again.
"Don't worry about apologizing, Elizabeth. We already accepted the apology, remember?" Sarah asked.
"Yes. I'm sorry if I said it again," Elizabeth told Sarah.
"I know," she said.
"Is there anything in your mansion that you've had and want to share with us if we're accepted from your staff?" Carolyn asked.
"Nothing exciting. I don't have anything to show off," Elizabeth answered.
"That's okay. We just want to see what you have," Sarah said.
"That's all right. I'm not into fancy and expensive stuff like some rich people are," Elizabeth said.
"Which is a good thing," her friends agreed.
"Yes," Elizabeth said.
They spent the rest of the day together by going to a movie, but not the one Elizabeth went to see with Nicole, but it was a different one. She ended up paying for the movie tickets and candy, since she offered. Her friends didn't mind Elizabeth doing that for the three of them.
It isn't often Elizabeth goes to movies, so she thought she'd treat herself to the one she went to see with Nicole and now her other friends.
She thought maybe doing a girls' day with all of her friends including Sarah and Carolyn would be fun. She'll mention it sometime soon in the future. She wants to enjoy today.
Elizabeth felt an idea pop into her head.
"I just thought of something," Elizabeth said.
"What's that?" Carolyn asked.
"Why not come to the mansion now? I thought it was a good place to start," Elizabeth said.
"What do you think?" Sarah asked Carolyn.
"I like it. I know what mansions look like because of TV," she said.
"I watched an episode of House Hunters the other night with a mansion out in Hollywood that was expensive," Sarah said.
"I don't watch that show much," Carolyn said.
"Neither do I," Elizabeth agreed.
"What kind of stuff do you watch on TV, Elizabeth?" Sarah asked.
"Just what other people normally watch. The news channel I stick with is CNN," she said.
"Us too," her friends agreed.
So Carolyn and Sarah followed Elizabeth to the parking lot. Elizabeth had a ride with Carolyn today, so there was no need to call for one.
"You'll just have to give me directions," Carolyn told her.
"I plan to do that," Elizabeth said.
"I bought my own car, but I'll follow," Sarah said.
"That's fine," Elizabeth told her.
"Then we just leave whenever," Sarah said.
"That's the plan. I don't think my boyfriend is available today to meet you girls," Elizabeth said.
"What's his name?" Sarah asked.
"It's Michael," she answered.
"Nice name. I'm sure he's cute," Carolyn said.
"He's pretty nice. We've been together for about almost three years," Elizabeth told them.
"Have you had any fights?" Sarah asked.
"Not often. He's too nice for that," Elizabeth answered.
It took Carolyn and Sarah a good twenty minutes as Elizabeth gave Carolyn the directions. Carolyn is a good driver.
So Elizabeth and Carolyn had music on while she gave the directions to the mansion.
Then Carolyn and Sarah parked at the curb instead of the driveway.
Elizabeth unbuckled her seatbelt and had Sarah and Carolyn follow her up the steps.
"Wow. This is a huge place. How long have you been in this mansion?" Sarah asked.
"Quite a few years. I wasn't born here, but I thought this state would be a nice place to live when I moved here, and I saw that I was right," Elizabeth replied as she opened the door for the three of them.
"You chose the right state, Elizabeth. We're happy to be friends," Sarah said.
"Me too," they agreed as Elizabeth closed the door behind them.
She noticed there was no greeting. Elizabeth knows it's normal.
"Are your mom and dad living here too?" Carolyn asked.
"No. They died a few years ago. My brother John is out in Las Vegas, but we talk once in a while," Elizabeth said.
One of the maids, whose name was Jennifer, heard Elizabeth open the door and greeted her three minutes later.
"Hello, Elizabeth. These must be your friends you mentioned," Jennifer said.
"Yes, Jen. Meet Carolyn and Sarah," Elizabeth said.
"It's nice to meet you girls," Jennifer told them.
"You too," they both said in unison.
So they all sat down in the living room.
"Would you girls like something to eat and drink while you're here?" Jennifer asked.
"We're good, thank you," Sarah answered.
So they talked for a while, and then Carolyn and Sarah decided it was time to leave an hour later.
"We'll see you later, Liz," Sarah said.
"Same here. I'll call later," Elizabeth said.
"Okay," Carolyn said.
Elizabeth walked with them to the driveway to make sure they made it safely to the cars, which they were able to.
"What do you think of them, Jennifer? They're excited about coming to the party," Elizabeth told her maid.
"They're nice girls, Liz, but are they from this community?" Jennifer asked.
"They were like Amy and Diana. You remember them, don't you?" Elizabeth asked.
"Yes, I do. You don't need those girls in your life anymore," Jennifer told her.
"I do miss them once in a while, Jen. I'll let them know if they could still come to the party," Elizabeth said.
Jennifer was a twenty – two – year – old with brown hair and blue eyes. She was pretty for her age, which is one of the things she liked about Jennifer.
"I'll talk about it with the staff and see if those girls can come," Jennifer told her.
"Okay. I'm fine with that," Elizabeth said.
"I'll see you later tonight," she told Elizabeth.
"All right. I'll just go up to my room for now," Elizabeth told her.
Once in her bedroom, she closed the door and sighed. At least this was a start for Carolyn and Sarah to come here at the mansion. She'll give them a tour later.
When she got on her bed, Elizabeth planned to pray about her staff accepting Sarah and Carolyn to attend the party.
Then she'd share with them on what they thought of them.
