To get some rest, acting wise
I lie awake, try not to cry
then watch as my bleeding heart dies,
scavenging birds into it pry
I left the room, with flowers that
you said you liked before now what's
the reason why you don't feel bad?
I don't look back, lest I grow guts.
Then I look sideways when I cross
safety first I heard is a must
then I pass doors and I pass stores
and I pass out from breathing dust.
The blackened wires behind my eyes
know not how our 'true love' expired
they tell the truth, their truth is lies
wrapped and disguised in pure satire.
Fly as they may, explore the skies
then get so numb and somewhat tired;
these waterfalls on our burning fires
They rarely tried, I really tried.
