Star Gazing

Dim specks, all I see that lies before me
Even though darkness intensifies their light.
A little longer and maybe you'll see
Relentless shining stars before your sight:

Resilient and steadfast, they will always be
Unceasingly shining for us despite
The distance between us and these beauties,
Heaven's gift of immortal acolytes.

If you look up, then I hope you will see

Lanterns shining in your darkest of nights,
On forever, so that you might find me
Very close to home, where your heart feels right,
Even on rough nights: you, me, that's plenty.

Years, distance measured by stars shining bright,
Optimistically thinking of we,
Us…you might see…one day, we may unite.
