Vessel of Delight
This beauteous heart, My vessel of delight,
Take, blissful Dove, upon Your guardian wing,
Her hand, outstretched, that proudly bears My ring,
Clasping You, gently carry her in flight.
This rare pure gem – My eyes are shining bright,
My spirit leaps and cannot help but sing!
Love's arrow that's been loosened from her string
Has conquered Him who braved the hardest fight.
Fly, Dove, and swiftly bring me back My heart,
That gone from Me resides now in her breast,
Leaving in Mine the imprint of her soul.
Hurry, My Dove, oh come remove the dart
Lodged deep within by longing's sweet unrest,
Drawing her home forever to be whole.
