Waft

By Katje Kaase

The particles were invisible

But she saw them go

Like a breeze

That soothes a fever.

The flutter of a curtain,

Innocuous in their flow.

She knew their destination,

A window wide and clear.

Like a smooth transition,

In a final waft of air.

Some gently drifted upward

But she kept the best

Right here.
