Ivy awoke in the early morning light spilling into the cabin loft.
Hendricks was asleep beside her, spooned into her backside and she welcomed his warm closeness knowing it was always supposed to be this way. She smiled at his presence. It had been a wonderful night – the naked snow job, the hot passionate shower, the lovemaking in the loft. After all these years, here they were, finally together.
She slipped out of the bed and went to the narrow loft window. The storm was gone. The snow glistened in the morning sun
"God, what a lovely sight."
Ivy turned to see Hendricks admired her. She laughed and dashed back to the bed, curling next to him back under the covers.
"Sorry you missed your flight," she said.
"I'll catch the next one," a carefree Hendricks replied as he wrapped his arms around her. She placed her hand on his cheek and he kissed her wrist.
"You're still stuck here until the plow comes," she said.
"I'm not stuck here," Hendricks smiled. "I want to be here."
"And I want you to be here," Ivy assured him. "In fact, I have a confession to make."
"What kind of confession?" Hendricks worried.
"You're going to be mad," Ivy groaned, rolling away from him and sitting up on the side of the bed, the covers falling away.
"How could I be mad?" He asked, reaching his hand out and tracing her spine with his finger.
"I forgot the Murphy box on purpose," Ivy revealed.
"Why would you do that?" Hendricks asked with surprise.
"Because Patterson was trying to hit on me as usual and I kept thinking to myself 'Is this going to be the story of my life? Is this all there is for me?' And then I saw you through the door walking down the hall with Amber and suddenly I knew what I wanted."
"Amber?" He joked. "You wanted my secretary?"
She looked over her shoulder at him. "I wanted you in my loft." She chewed on her lip. "But I was afraid."
"Why would you be afraid?" Hendricks asked, sitting up on the bed.
"I was afraid that you would say we were just friends."
"We were just friends," Hendricks clarified, leaning in and kissing the back of her shoulder.
"Are we just friends with benefits now?" She asked, her eyes tearing up.
"No, of course not, Ivy," Hendricks assured her, wrapping his hand around her waist and pulling her into his lap with her back still to him. "I used to fantasize about you," he admitted.
"Really?" She asked with surprise.
He kissed the back of her neck, squeezed his arms around her tummy, and waddled his penis against her bottom. "Really."
She smiled happily. "And Lexie?"
"I heard we broke up," Hendricks replied.
"So I forgot the box on purpose and made you drive up here in a snow storm."
"And you got me to run naked in the snow."
"Our Snow Job," she grinned.
"I'm glad you forgot the box on purpose," Hendricks whispered into her ear.
"You go to Florida for Christmas with your family," Ivy told him. "I'll stay here with Murphy. And when you get back we'll celebrate the New Year together."
"Sounds like a plan," Hendricks said, making love to the back of her neck.
They heard a truck outside.
"That's Emmitt," Ivy said. "You'll have to go ask him to pull you out of the ditch."
"Should I go naked?" Hendricks teased.
Ivy giggled. "I'd love to see that."
"Come with me," Hendricks smirked. "Give Emmitt something to remember!"
"A true snow job," Ivy laughed as she fell off of him onto the bed.
Hendricks got out of bed and realized his clothes were still downstairs. He picked up one of the towels from the shower and wrapped it around his waist, looking lovingly at Ivy sprawled out nude on the bed.
"Don't go anywhere," he told her.
"Bring the donuts and bananas back with you," she said.
"Breakfast in bed," he grinned as he headed for the door.
