After we left professor Raddison's class, the rest of the day was pretty uneventful. Vignette followed me to the rest of my classes and thankfully, she didn't participate any further. Honestly, having her there with me was pretty distracting. All of the guys and even some of the girls were checking her out and I knew what was going on: They wanted to get in her pants and truth be told, I would be a liar if I said that their lust was unfounded. Vignette did look physically attractive. Odds are it was more likely than not, part of the government's plan to make a perfect Android super soldier. She had those beautiful brown eyes and her long blonde hair with just a bit of a wave in it. Vignette was any guy's dream.

The next day after her spectacular performance in professor Raddison's class, I took Vignette to the cafeteria and got some food. I ordered a pizza for us to split. She picked up a slice, examining it from every angle, the cheese melting onto her fingers before she took a bite. I admit, I was kind of nervous watching Vignette eat. I was always wondering in the back of my mind if this was the moment that something would go down the wrong pipe and damage her, but it never did. I watched nervously as she chewed and swallowed the food. It was amazing how advanced her mechanics were and how they allowed her to actually take in food and drink.

"Do you like the pizza?" I asked as she gave me a nod.

"It tastes good," was the reply as she continued to scarf it down. I downed my Diet Coke as I looked over at her. I didn't want her to be cooped up in the house all the time. I wanted her to have some fun. Besides, what better place to hide than in plain sight. I watched Vignette look around at the people eating. I noticed that her eyes settled upon a couple eating and being intimate. The girl was stroking her boyfriends hands with her thumbs and I honestly thought it was kind of sweet.

"So, Vignette...I was think that maybe we could do something tonight?" I asked as she looked up at me.

"Like what Jeff?" she inquired.

"I dunno...there's an arcade near campus called Randy's Place...if you want to check it out?"

"Yeah, they have games and you play for tickets so that you can win prizes," I explained.

"When are we going?" Vignette asked.

"Um, around five maybe?" I suggested.

"All right," she agreed as she finished her pizza. She wasn't overly excited about it, but that was probably because she had never been to an arcade before. I was hoping that maybe I could finally get Vignette to loosen up a little bit and have some fun.

When five o'clock rolled around, Vignette and I hopped into my car and we headed for the arcade. When we got there, Vignette was surprised by the neon lights that lit up the building. When we walked inside, the place was filled with the sounds of games and of people having fun. I looked over and I saw that Vignette was taking in the entire scene in pure wonder. That made sense, she had probably never seen anything like this before. "There are so many games here..." Vignette observed.

"This place has 'Em all, that's for sure." I replied as I spotted one of my favorite games. "Sweet, Dig Dug. You have to try it!" I grabbed her hand and led her over to the machine. I popped in a quarter and I stared playing. If I had to choose a favorite arcade game, it was definitely Dig Dug. I managed to last a few rounds before I screwed up.

"Can I try?" Vignette asked quietly.

"Sure!" I popped in another quarter and I told her how to play. Once she hit start, she went off. Watching her play was like, for lack of a better word, watching a machine play. Eventually, after about a half hour, Vignette actually beat the game.

"I won." She said as she turned to me with a smile.

"I've played this game for years and I've never beat it..." I said in awe. Vignette typed her name into the machine so that everyone could see who got the new high score on Dig Dug. The next game we played was the basketball hoop. I showed her how to play and once again, she took off. She made a basket every single time. She was like a regular Sue Bird. A pile of tickets came out as a Vignette knelt down to pick them up.

"What are these?" She asked.

"They're tickets, you can use them to buys prizes." I explained as I showed her the skeeball machine.

"Is this like basketball?" Vignette inquired.

"It's kind of different," I said as I put in a quarter. "You have to get the balls in the holes, the more points you get, the more tickets you get." I showed her how to roll the ball as she leaned back into me. I caught a whiff of her scent and she smelled nice...for a robot anyway. Vignette took the balls and she landed every single one into the 100 hole. I stood there with my mouth open as she collected another pile of tickets.

"Did I win?" She asked.

"You did awesome!" I exclaimed as Vignette smiled at me. The rest of the night went on with Vignette racking up high scores on everything. Finally, we went to the most infamous arcade game that ever was: Dragon's Lair.

"Can I play this one Jeff?" She asked as I sighed.

"That game is impossible," I explained. Me and the guys have all tried it and we lose every time. No one has ever beaten it. Randy's actually considering having it removed because people complain."

"Please can I try?" Vignette asked. I could refuse her anything.

"Ok, but you are gonna be sorry." I said as I put in a dollar. Vignette began playing and I was watching every move to see which one would trip her up. As minutes passed, she was still in. Vignette had passed by every point that had tripped up me and my boys. As she played, little by little, curious onlookers began to gather around us and before I knew it, a crowd had gathered and was watching Vignette playing as Dirk the knight. Everyone was finally floored with Dirk freed princess Daphne and It was announced that Vignette had won.

"Jeff, I won!" she exclaimed as she smiled at me, but then grew nervous as she took in the crowd around us

" the fuck she do that?" One guy asked out loud. They were all looking at Vignette like she had discovered fire.

"She's just awesome." I said as I took her hand and led her away from the awe struck mob. We went up to the prize stand and cashed in the tickets. In all, we got a inflatable dolphin, a fresh baked chocolate cake, a remote operated toy car, an electric guitar, and a few dozen pieces of candy. Before we left, I treated Vignette to slushees. I got red and she got blue.

"How are you so good at these games?" I asked, even though I knew the answer.

"It's my programming," she replied. "My circuit board is designed for accuracy." I nodded as I took a big gulp of my slushee. Then, I got brain-freeze.

"Ah...shit!" I exclaimed as I touched my head.

"Jeff, what's wrong?" Vignette asked nervously.

"Brain freeze, I'd drank too fast," I replied as Vignette took my hands in hers.

"It's all right Jeff, you'll be all right." She assured me as she stroked my hands with her thumbs as the coldness ran its course.

An hour later, we were back at the townhouse and getting ready for bed.

"Thank you for tonight Jeff, I had fun." Vignette told me as I couldn't help but smile. I wanted to let her know that she was special.

"Me too...can, can I hug you." i asked nervously. Vignette was silent for a moment before she nodded. We wrapped our arms around each other and all I knew was that I had never felt more safe. I hoped that she felt the same.
