Our lives come rushing fast, our Lord;
Or else they drag with weariness.
In the rush, sustain our lives;
Keep us still on stable ground.
When the flood comes mounting higher
Let us ever look to You;
When the tides go out, the wreckage—
Rebuild us, as we see so much to do.
You are the Rock beneath our feet,
You the strength in weary days;
Help us love You, Lord, supremely;
Help us always speak Your praise.
