Loving Calligraphy

I put pen to paper to write to her

words that can't be said. I watch distinctive

ink stain the previously blank paper,

forming letters one by one. The cursive

letters dancing on tightrope lines, curving

without faltering. Agony, outcry,

fury. Only words, yet unwavering

as the time flows by, when voices wane. My

heart aches with anguish as I write goodbye,

tears falling to mix with the ink clouding

all I've written, just as you've clouded my

life. While the thought of you is deafening,

by writing these words, my pain fades away,

and I know that someday, I'll be okay.
