A/N: This chapter is named after the Dua Lipa song of the same name.

The last day of the seniors attending high school…

David is an eighteen-year-old who wasn't sure if he was going to graduate or not. His pickup truck was currently getting its motor rebuilt. Its engine began to knock as he dropped Angela off at her job on Saturday. Throughout the second semester, David was dealing with a high level of stress to the point where he now developed insomnia. He leaves the school to meet up with his friends at the parking lot.

"Alright, let's go. I'm eager to get the fuck out of here. Fuck the senior breakfast and graduation practice. I'd rather go to Berkeley with my two good friends and Angela." David said, as he got inside Kincaid's car

"I knew you'd come along, David. So are we going to the dispensary? You're in dire need of sleep. Oz and I will score you the strain that can help you relax." Kincaid asked, as he started to drive

"The melatonin that my mom gave me did nothing. Who would've thought my insomnia got this bad? I refuse to get addicted to Ambien, Vicodin, or Valium." David replied

"That's why we're getting you some weed. Not the kind with a higher level of THC. You're not ready for that. Just enough to help you relax and sleep, alright." Oscar said

"Sure, I'm cool with that. Are we going to pick up Angela? She's going to be off soon. Or are we going to the dispensary first?" David asked in an anxious manner

"Angela's not going to be off work in the next twenty minutes. Oscar and I will be in and out of the dispensary. If you're hungry, go get yourself a few snacks at the gas station as soon as we arrive." Kincaid said

"Alright, I'll grab a few snacks. But I won't leave you guys hanging. It's just hard to believe that Angela is talking to me again." David said

"Well, her ex-boyfriend shouldn't have cheated on her. Matthew's going to get his comeuppance soon enough. For now, let's just ignore all that and get our errands done here." Oscar said

Once the dispensary was a block away, Kincaid parks his car at a nearby parking lot. He walks with Oscar to the dispensary as they're both medical marijuana patients. David goes inside the gas station to get snacks. As he finished paying, his body suddenly began to feel very tense as his palms were sweating profusely. The young man rushes back to the car and plays a song he hears to help him relax.

"Now, I thought I'd vocalized my traumas

But I wonder how it sound, hm

I know I'm cryptic, and I'm worthless

Can't helping losing a friend

I don't wanna die so young

Got so much to do

I don't smile for the camera

Only smile for you

Smile for you"

Out of nowhere, Kincaid knocks on the window of his car to have David open it from the inside. Angela was no longer the only person who knew about David's newfound anxiety. He reveals to Oscar and Kincaid that his first panic attack happened at a flea market a few days back. They decide to drop David off at his house first and pick up Angela at her job. Once he got dropped off, David decides to take a quick shower to relieve the tension in his body.

Twenty minutes later…

As soon as David finished showering, his body tension was somewhat relieved. His friends were downstairs watching an episode of Super Sentai on his PlayStation 4. David lies down on his bed to relieve the remaining tension on his lower back. Once he started feeling better, he goes through his wardrobe and decides on what he should wear. The young man wears an XXXTentacion t-shirt, Reebok joggers, and his pair of Adidas slides. However, he takes a pair of Vans slip-on shoes with him.

"What's up, David? Are you feeling much better? I never thought you'd wear the Reebok joggers that I bought you as your birthday gift." Oscar asked, as he got up from the couch

"Yes, I feel much better now. I just never thought I'd see myself wearing these type of pants. It seems Angela here thinks I look great in them." David responded

"I think you do look great in those jogger pants. It's about time that you change your style up a bit. By the way, if that anxiety comes about. You can smoke a joint that Oscar just rolled." Angela said

"Okay, I'll smoke the damn joint. But I'm not giving in under peer pressure here. Marijuana has just never been my thing." David said, as he grabbed the joint

"We understand. Did you pack yourself a pair of extra clothes? I'm only asking because the three of us have." Kincaid asked

Who wouldn't pack a pair of extra clothes? We're going to Berkeley here. Are you going to be the one driving, Kincaid?" David responded

"I'm the one who's going to drive us to Berkeley. Don't you worry, David. I now have my driver's license if I forgot to tell you that." Oscar said, as the four walked to Kincaid's car

It was only a week ago that Oscar had gotten his driver's license in the mail. He had to use Kincaid's car to take the test as his father got unexpectedly called into work that day. All of his friends wished him good luck on passing it. Six months ago, Oscar previously failed the driving test after he accidentally braked too early out of nervousness. Instead of retaking it right away, he chose to practice more.

The four were going to Berkeley to attend an annual Free Speech rally. Angela had no interest in politics and left to avoid seeing her ex-boyfriend. She found out from a girl named Regina that Matthew was cheating on the latter. Regina sent a video to her in which it showed a girl giving Matthew a blowjob. David and Kincaid themselves also got a picture of them together at a diner.

David took a photo of them enjoying their food without getting spotted. He pretended to go to the restroom as a way to get the picture taken. It was the only way that David would get Angela to believe him. David and his friend previously encountered Matthew with his secret girlfriend at the Hanford Mall. None of them were able to get a picture as they left quickly that day.

"David, I'm sorry that I accused you of being a jealous cunt. It's just that Matthew has the face of being an innocent person. Now I know he's not the person I thought he was. When you and I were dating, you never showed interest in another girl. You're like Hal in Malcolm in the Middle." Angela said

"It's fine, Angela. Every high school girl accuses their ex-boyfriend of being jealous at first. You believed me when you got my picture and Regina's video seconds apart. Plus, I know which episode of Malcolm you're talking about there. Also, did you ever see Matthew acting suspiciously when his smartphone goes off?" David asked

"I did find it weird how his smartphone would make a text message sound every two minutes. So I asked Matthew who kept texting him. Asking him a simple question like that seriously bugged him. The whole thing led to an argument between us." Angela responded

"I'm the one who knows Matthew very well. To him, asking questions is an invasion of privacy. It's hard to believe I used to be friends with that loser. Oz and Kincaid here never liked him." David said

"He's right, you know. I have nothing against guys that wear bow ties and dress sophisticated to school. Bradley's a perfect example of being a sophisticated guy. Oz and I despise Matthew because he considers himself too good for us." Kincaid said

"That's the one thing I didn't like about Matthew. I've known you and Oz longer than him. Never have I once acted brand-new towards you guys. So I'm going to try to fall asleep during the long drive. I do not want to faint in public." David said

Forty-five minutes later, Angela sees David sleeping peacefully despite Oscar's music being blatantly loud. A J-pop song that Oscar previously played at the prom was playing on Kincaid's stereo. Both David and Angela did not have a date that night. Matthew went to the prom in Hanford with his lover instead. The original disc jockey left after nobody wanted to listen to the same popular song over and over again.

David remained asleep throughout the first half of the drive until they arrived in the city of San Jose. He woke up to find himself alone with Kincaid's car parked next to a gas pump. Oscar and Kincaid come out of the gas station while Angela was coming out of a bubble tea hangout. They stop at a steakhouse as they haven't eaten anything other than the snacks that David brought earlier.

"Man, am I famished. I didn't think you'd drive that good making our way up to San Jose the first time. It's crazy how the time flew by. We left Bellamy Park at three in the afternoon." Kincaid said, as the four got out of his car

"David's uncle gave me a piece of advice before taking my driver's license test. Overcome your fear, do not let it overcome you, no matter the circumstance." Oscar said

"My uncle and father always give us great advice. By the way, when's my turn going to come for when I drive your Aerio? You know, show Angela here that I learned to drive stick-shift." David asked, as the four entered the steakhouse

"David, you know how to drive a stick shift." Angela said in a surprised manner

"Kincaid taught me how to drive stick-shift in his mother's old Honda Civic. It was hard at first until I got the hang of it. You probably can't picture me handling a manual transmission." David said, as the four sat down at a table

"No, I can't picture you driving a manual transmission vehicle. But I'd love to see you drive Kincaid's car if he lets you. I'm the only one out of us four who doesn't know how to drive a stick-shift." Angela said

"Don't worry, you'll learn how to drive a stick-shift one day." Kincaid said

Back in Bellamy Park…

Matthew was gathering all of the gifts that Angela had gotten him throughout the ten months they were dating. A heedless Matthew breaks his smartphone after he tried to call Angela a few times. It bothered him that his ex-girlfriend began talking to David again. He drives to her house to leave the gifts on her porch. On the way, a police officer pulls him over and turns out to be Angela's father.

"Where do you think you're going, boy? You're not on your way to my house, are you? If you are, I'm going to hogtie your ass." Angela's father said in a Southern accent

"No, officer. I was just on my way back home. I'm not looking into getting in trouble here." Matthew said in an intimidated manner

"You don't seem like you're on your way home. I can tell when a person is lying when their right nostril is flaring. Yours is flaring as we're speaking to one another. Now get out of my sight before I arrest you." Angela's father said

Angela's father never had a liking towards Matthew. On the other hand, her mother would always defend him no matter what. Her father was happy that his daughter reconciled with David. It did not necessarily mean both David and Angela were a couple again. They may have danced at the prom together. However, the two only agreed to be friends with each other.

Matthew did not regret cheating on Angela nor had any shame in himself. He nearly crashes into the rear of a Nissan since he was speeding his vehicle out of anger. The vehicle's owner happens to belong to one of the most popular girls in high school. She was lucky her car did not get hit by Matthew's Ford Focus. Her 300ZX had its rear bumper recently put in by one of David's friends completing her project car.

After narrowly avoiding a car crash, Matthew drives to Hanford to pick up Crystal at the Panda Express. They were originally going to hang out at an arcade in Tulare. However, she got called into work after one of her co-workers called off the day before. The young girl did not seem to mind going into work since she only worked part-time rather than full-time. She was only an 11th grader trying to earn her own money rather than asking her parents for it.

"Matthew, what's wrong? Are you bothered by something that happened to you earlier?" Crystal asked out of concern

"Here's the thing, Crystal. I tried to return all of the gifts that my ex-girlfriend through the ten months we dated. Her father threatened to send me to jail if I didn't get out of his sight. That's why I'm annoyed." Matthew replied

"Wow, what an asshole. The good thing is that you're over that ugly bitch. She doesn't deserve a handsome guy like yourself. It's her loss." Crystal said, as she connects her iPhone onto the stereo of Matthew's car

"Do you want to hang out at the arcade? So I can get everything off of my mind, I guess. The movie we were going to watch in the theaters got sold out." Matthew asked

"Sure, why not. It's better than being at home and playing video games. Your mother is always checking up on us every ten minutes or so." Crystal replied, as her favorite song begins playing

"That's how my mom is. She never lets me have a shred of privacy there. I can't wait to move out of my parents' house soon enough." Matthew said, as they make their way to the arcade

In San Jose…

David checks his iPhone to see whether his father has texted him or not. His friends tell him not to worry too much about everything he is going through. The three of them felt David was unnecessarily stressing himself out more. There was still that 50/50 chance he was not going to graduate high school either. He receives a message from Mr. Palin that he'll keep him posted on whether the administration will let him graduate or not.

Twenty minutes later, the four teenagers leave the steakhouse and notice a '97 Toyota Supra Turbo parked next to Kincaid's car. It was the one Supra none of them had ever seen until now. Oscar takes a picture of the vehicle to post onto his Instagram account. Kincaid decides to have David drive his car to a motel so the young man can impress Angela.

"Bruh, I can't believe we finally saw a Mark 4 Supra. This guy must love Cobra Kai and Castlevania if he put these decals onto his car. He's even a fan of the Liverpool Football Club team. The only way we can figure out the owner of this car is if he put a decal of his Instagram handle onto his Supra. But I guess we'll never know who he is." Oscar said, as the four got inside Kincaid's car

"Oz, you never know. The owner probably saw you taking pictures of his Supra. Now we have to find a USDM Mazda RX-7. I'm referring to the FD RX-7 as we've already seen both the FB and FC models." Kincaid said, as he was sitting in the passenger seat

"The FD RX-7 has been the most elusive one yet. We've already spotted an Acura NSX, Mazda MX-3, Datsun 240Z, and a Toyota Sprinter Trueno. I'm the only one here who has seen an imported Nissan Skyline GT-R." David said, as he started to drive Kincaid's car

"I can't believe we missed seeing that Skyline. Both of us felt we should've gone with you to Bank of America that day. Did you get to meet the owner?" Oscar asked

"Sadly, I did not. My dad needed me to tow an abandoned Daihatsu Rocky that day. It was the first Daihatsu that I've seen in real life. Can one of you set directions for a motel? I'm starting to feel tired again." David responded

"Will do." Kincaid said, as he set the directions to a Motel 6

As soon as they arrive at the motel, Angela sees her ex-boyfriend calling her phone again. She ignored his call when they had left Bellamy Park in the early afternoon. Oscar heard the vibration of her iPhone while David and Kincaid did not. He gives Angela advice into pulling a "Marlene" against the guy in case he decides to call again.

Fifteen minutes later, Oscar's theory of Matthew calling Angela again is proven correct as her iPhone rings. She answers Matthew's call and has him put on speakerphone without his knowledge. The three men were unable to contain their laughter as Matthew was begging Angela to take him back. Once the call was over, all four of them fall asleep right away.

The next morning…

The four check out of the motel with Kincaid taking over the drive to Berkeley. Angela had also been impressed with David's skills in driving a manual the previous night. She was more accustomed to seeing him drive an automatic rather than a stick shift. Nevertheless, she did not mind whether his official first car is going to be a manual or not. David's father handed the '02 Silverado to him when he got a newer model of the truck that day.

Oscar also considered visiting his childhood friend in Sacramento after the Free Speech Rally. Both of them got in contact with each other on social media early this morning. His old buddy found him on Instagram and was the recent one to like Oscar's post. The guy's name is Luis and felt he could not fit in with the Gang of Four. It was what he'd jokingly call Oscar and his friends in their first two years of high school.

Luis made friends with those that'd play soccer during both brunch and lunch. His friendship with Oscar became distant to the point where he acted brand new towards him. He would no longer invite him to his house nor ask if he needed help with his homework. On the other hand, Oscar began to care less about Luis after ignoring him at a car show event.

"Oz, I remember that day. It was not right of Luis to ignore you like that. I don't think he deserves a chance here." Kincaid said

"It's the only chance that Luis is getting. If he decides to act like a jerk again, there won't be any more chances after that." Oscar said

"I'm just warning you, man. Luis is the biggest liar that we've ever known. No offense, you and Tabitha were quite dumb for believing his lies to get you to hang out with him. And that was a hangout loop he found there." Kincaid said

"We've already discussed this, Kincaid. I'll end my friendship with Luis if he does something that pisses me off very badly, alright." Oscar said

"Alright, I'll drop the whole subject then. It's going to be a long drive to Sacramento after the Free Speech event is over." Kincaid said

David and his friends barely make it on time to attend the annual Free Speech Rally. There was surprisingly no violence or protests in the area. Last year's rally had been full of the latter resulting in forty arrests and ten injuries. The attendees were mostly college students on both sides of the political aisle. Security was also very tight at the event in case violence occurred.

Once the event ended, David receives another text message from Mr. Palin confirming to him that he'll graduate. The administrators planned on sending David to a continuation high school to make up his missing credit. Mr. Palin did not want one of his favorite students to repeat another year in school. He convinced them to allow the young man to graduate by doing an assignment in an online course.

"Man, I feel completely relieved. The administration has decided that they're going to let me graduate. I guess I don't have to go to North Park anymore. My dad would've killed me if I stayed in school another year." David said in an excited manner

"Oh, that's awesome. What are we going to do after we finish hanging out with Luis? I thought of playing basketball with you guys again." Angela said

"We should spend time in Sacramento and go home on the day of graduation. We're not officially attending the graduation unless a miracle happens. You know, if somebody bought us tickets to attend the ceremony." Kincaid said

"Man, that would be great. My parents have been riding my ass if I'm going to pick up my diploma or not. For now, I've put them on 'Do Not Disturb' mode. I'm just living tired under my dad's roof. I get scolded every single time by him. Kincaid's father and your father don't even like being near that man." Oscar said

"Why does your father scold you, Oz?" Angela asked out of concern

"He and his family make me feel worthless. They got mad when I did not take the stupid PSAT test. Nobody in school told me a single word about it." Oscar responded

"We'll admit that it was our fault for not telling you, Oz. You didn't have a smartphone at that time. All of us know that you do have a future. That stupid PSAT test doesn't mean anything to us." Angela said

"You're right, Angela. My dad and his family are wrong for saying that I do not have a future. I'm going to work with David and his father at their automotive shop to prove them wrong." Oscar said

David does mention to Oscar that he and his father can use extra help at their automotive shop.

In Bellamy Park, Matthew did not feel like hanging out with his buddies after Angela humiliated him over the phone last night. Most seniors began to make fun of him, therefore, becoming a laughing-stock amongst them. The ones who followed David on Snapchat viewed his story first and sent it to their friends. Not a single senior was familiar with the trick that Angela pulled on Matthew.

Nevertheless, the high school seniors only cared about graduating from high school.

A/N: This chapter includes a King of the Hill reference from the sixth season of the show where Boomhauer got used by the girl who just happened to be like him. I also quoted "Attention" by Joji in this chapter as well.
