Your opinion doesn't matter.
They say it does, but it doesn't.
If it did matter, they wouldn't ask you questions and immediately begin talking to someone else even as you try to answer.
They wouldn't tell you to be quiet every time you try to speak.
They wouldn't punish you for trying to joke or say something funny. It's not your fault your sense of humor is sarcastic.
"Your opinion is important to me," they say, right before talking over you. Because it's always followed by a "but." Always.
Your opinion doesn't matter. What are you, if not your opinions? Therefore, you don't matter.
And since you don't matter, your pain doesn't matter either.
