Solar System

Located in the southern constellation of Cetus, Tau Ceti - or, Cvet, as it is known the system's natives, is a main-sequence yellow dwarf star. Although Cvet only has 80% of Sol's radius, as well as being less luminescent, it is capable of supporting life, which it does. Six planets orbit, as well as an unusually dense debris field.

Appearance: Miezko possesses a dense, hazy, orangish-blue atmosphere that obscures the surface, but do not be fooled - by no means is the air breathable or the planet anywhere near habitable. Those in low orbit in the planet's night side are able to see the flashes of lightning through thick cloud cover. Miezko's surface stands out amongst other planets in this star system - the thick atmosphere is able to stop most meteors from reaching the surface, and as such, it doesn't have as many craters. Still, the surface is lifeless and barren, largely colored grey. Orbital observations and in-person surface expeditions are near impossible, given the atmospheric conditions. Still, radar and many other technologies have allowed scientists to map the surface.

Notable Features: Cepelkova's Crater - The only known impact site on Miezko, around 1,000 meters across and 152 meters deep.

Najgori Strah - An extensive trench network that is nearly 4 kilometers deep.

Piekielny Basin - A formation resembling a dried-up sea basin, where the Najgori Strah trench is located.

Notable Artificial Features:

Alfred Park Solar Observatory - Established in 2086, following the end of the Kreml war. Orbits Miezko in a way that allows for constant observation of Bogdan while still at a distance from the sun that would not require an extreme amount of radiators.

MOSS - The Miezko Observational Satellite System, or MOSS, as it is simply called, is a fleet of satellites constructed in 2042 orbiting Miezko. They utilize a wide range of instruments to monitor atmospheric activity, map the surface, and many other things. Although by 2095 similar satellite networks were present around other planets, it is considered to be a historic monument, as it was the first of its type.

Varlam Station - The command center for all Miezko-based operations. The satellite network is managed from here, having assumed control over ground mission control facilities on Valdera in 2053.

Lasla - Cold Gas Supergiant

Appearance: Lasla's atmosphere is dark blue, similar to Neptune. Darker blue color bands flow on opposite hemispheres. Smaller white storms can also be seen. Lasla also has a ring system, composed of three distinct segments. The latter of the three is the most noticeable from a distance.
Notable features:

Lasla Hypercane - A continuously-growing cyclone located in the northern hemisphere. The common consensus around when the storm began forming is the middle 1400s.

Malo Stijena - A cold arid moon with a thin atmosphere, comprised primarily of carbon dioxide, with some nitrogen and oxygen present. Approximately 30% of the size of Earth. Mostly colored in a dull brown, with white carbon icecaps. Purple and green polar aurorae do occur on this planet.

Krulova - A cold airless moon with no atmosphere. .5 the size of earth. Colored black and gray, with scattered white splotches as a result of water crystalizing on old impact sites.

Polar Aurorae: Lasla's close proximity to the sun as well as strong magnetic field lead to some especially beautiful polar aurorae, occurring almost constantly, in a wide range of colors.

Notable Artificial Features:
Anita Basin Training Center - Based in the Anita Basin on Malo Stijena, the Interstellar Navy uses this complex to train shuttlecraft pilots in atmospheric flight, orbital mechanics, search and rescue operations, and many other things since 2067. Since the number of private shuttlecraft operators rose significantly after the end of the Kreml war, the training center was opened to civilians in 2084.

Kessler Station - The command center for all Lasla-based operations. Four armed shuttlecraft intended for policing are kept here, as commercial mining in Lasla is illegal due to its sacred status amongst many religious Valderans.

Lasla Monolith - The aptly-named monolith was launched into a geocentric orbit above the Hypercane in the year 2000, as a metaphorical tribute to the Creators- who, in old tradition, watch over Valdera through the hypercane. Lasla is viewed as a guardian of Valdera (which it literally is - Lasla's mass tends to pull away asteroids from collision courses with Valdera) The Monolith itself is a slab of Quartzite stone half a meter wide and 4 meters tall. Inscribed in four of the most spoken languages on Valdera is "EVER WATCHFUL - EVER PROTECTING - THE PEOPLE OF VALDERA MAKE THIS OFFERING ON THE NEW MILLENIUM IN THE HOPES THAT YOUR PROTECTION WILL CONTINUE, AND PEACE AND PROSPERITY WILL REIGN SUPREME." On the opposite side is a carving depicting a rifle, with a bayonet attached, being used as a plow. In its path, Potatoes, regarded as a symbol of peace and resilience, are sprouting.
On the 50th anniversary of the Monolith, two marker buoys were placed nearby with cameras that livestream both sides, one providing a spectacular (although with occasionally diminished quality) view of Lasla.

INNER PLANETS BOUNDARY

Zvonimir - Cold Airless Terra

Appearance: Zvonimir looks very similar to Earth's moon, with rugged gray terrain and large swathes of dark basaltic plains. The surface is heavily pitted and scarred from repeated asteroid impacts, with many large sites visible from orbit. Due to the frequent impact events, the surface is more black than grey.

Notable features:
Bay of Generosity - A small black-colored area on Zvonimir, where the least amount of asteroidal matter strikes the planet.

Alvarado's Bluff - Despite its name, this location isn't actually a bluff. Rather, it is a small ditch near the Eisele Colony, in the southern hemisphere. It's also not exactly known who Alvarado is, or why this is his bluff. The popular urban legend is that during the initial stages of the colony, two geologists were surveying the area, when one came across the ditch, and dared the other to try and jump across, resulting in them getting stuck at the bottom.

Ewbari - The largest crater on Zvonimir, with a diameter of roughly 2,700 kilometers, and 14.6 kilometers deep.

Ewbari Ridges - The associated seismic shock that impact caused resulted in two ridges, one surrounding the crater and another further out, however about two kilometers tall in comparison.

Notable artificial features:

Eisele Colony - The first Valderan planetary colony. Up to this point, Valderans had only colonized moons. Established in 2053, with a population of 1,271 as of 2095. The main focus of this colony is geological and general research, but as stellar mining activity increases, it has also begun to serve as a cargo handling facility for mining operations in the area. Most of this colony is based underground within artificial caves.

Zvonimir Foundry - As the name implies, this facility is an extensive ore melting complex, established in 2077. Notable for being one of the first instances of stellar commerce in Valderan history, as although the complex is supported heavily by the Interstellar Navy, it is still owned by the Las Varas Smelting Company.

Wade Station - Orbital center for Zvonimir-based operations. This station watches over local traffic- both starship and shuttlecraft-, tracks potential hazards in the surrounding area, and provides liaisons as unbiased moderators for labor disputes within the foundries below.

Radmila - Frigid Gas Giant

Appearance: Radmila's atmosphere is a dull yellow, almost entirely uniform across the planet. Although they are there, storms are scarcely visible, as they're colored in a lighter white.
Notable features:
Boreslawa - A small gray moon with some scattered basaltic plains under which massive gold deposits reside.A common joke among some circles on Valdera is that Boreslawa was single handedly responsible for driving down the already-cheap gold market to the point where gold was just being handed out for free.

Ledepak - A small moon, with a surface that appears largely white. This is due to the entire surface being coated with a thick layer of frozen nitrogen. There are scattered grey linea, as well as many impact craters where the rocky surface has been exposed. It possesses a trace atmosphere of nitrogen. Around .25 the size of earth.

Chavdar - A large asteroid, which was initially presumed to be a large basaltic rock. However, upon prospecting operations, it was revealed to actually be an asteroid-sized geode. The crystals on the inside aren't anything too crazy, being large white quartz crystals, but it's the only known one of its type.

Irina - A nearly planet-sized moon, similar to Mars in appearance. A thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and helium is present. Ice caps on this moon take up nearly half of it's surface. .65x the size of Earth.

Polar Aurorae: Radmila has an unusually strong magnetic field, attributed to highly-magnetic materials present in its core. Because of this, there are occasional spectacular aurorae.

Sergei Station: Command center for Radmila-based operations.

Aleksandrovski: An asteroid in orbit of Radmila which was selected in 2093 to have colony facilities constructed within. However, plans are that it will not be a traditional colony - rather, it will be something more akin to a tourist town, except now within an asteroid. The project still has years to go, but it's still a very popular subject among travel bloggers on Valdera.

Jaro - Frigid Gas Supergiant

Appearance: For the most part, Jaro's atmosphere is a dark purple color, with numerous bands of a lighter, grayish purple. The lower quarter is a pasty white color, with no smaller bands. It possesses an extensive ring system with multiple distinct sections.
Notable features:

Jaro Minor: Orbiting Jaro is a gas microgiant with the same atmospheric coloration down to the band positions. The size of a small moon, it's not exactly known how it was formed, but it does provide a valuable avenue of research into the atmospheres of gas giants.

Chessa: A large moon with a brown-colored surface; around craters on its surface are swathes of black. It has a very thin atmosphere of nitrogen and oxygen, giving the horizon a very slight blue tint. Both polar caps have a mixture of carbon and water ice.

Teceu Point - A vista on the surface of Chessa that, at the maximums and minimums of the orbital cycle, provide a flat, but extensive, view of Jaro's ring inner and outer ring system.

Danica: A medium moon, with a brilliantly white surface. Translated, the name roughly means 'morning star,' as it was oftentimes one of the first things to greet astronomers when they viewed Jaro.

Notable artificial features:

Velichko Station: Command center for Jaro-based operations. Is tied in to an extensive orbital radar array, meant to monitor and track potential spatial hazards.

Valijevo Shipyard: This orbital shipyard specializes in the repair of shuttlecraft and starships, with 2 docks for starships and 10 for shuttles. It was established in 2079 to offset the load on the Visoko Luka shipyards, and to allow the construction crews there to focus on building new ships.

Trudy-Ljuba Fluid Dynamics Lab: An orbital laboratory over Jaro Minor, which studies, as the name implies, fluid dynamics, in addition to atmospherics. Established in 2083.

Săpânţa Colony: The most populous colony in the Cvet system, with nearly 14,500 residents as of the 2090 Stellar Census. Based on Chessa, specifically the Kolomyya Plains, originally within a series of large, hollowed-out lava tubes. Established in 2077.

Kurchatov: Si-doped CH/DT ice ICF microcapsules are manufactured and packed into fuel rods here, meant for use in A-FTLE and Hirschova-Novak engines. The process is not outright dangerous, but in the wake of the Hoffman disaster, public demand led to the Navy constructing an offworld fuel facility. Established in 2075.

Rodica - Debris Disk

Distance from Sun (roughly at densest point): 34 AU

The Rodica belt is actually one of the least-traveled areas in the Valderan star system. There is a lack of logistical support in most sectors, and the mining bases that are present are centralized in specific areas. Although it's not outright dangerous, as one might expect, the density of both asteroids and micrometeorites do provide a unique hazard to the extent that polarized hulls and magnetic field generators cannot protect against.

Valdera

Valdera is an earth-like habitable planet with an oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere, possessing oceans of liquid water, allowing it to support a wide range of biodiversity. Two moons orbit - K'delý and Bojana. It's orbit is not as varied as Earth's, and as such, Valdera did not undergo the same periods of ice ages that Earth did. Additionally, it has a lesser axial tilt, leading to the variance between seasons not being as extreme.

The oceans are named relative to an island at the center of the crater - Eastern and Western.

Weather

Due to an unexplained atmospheric phenomenon known as the Torrez Effect, hot air on Valdera will rise, and oftentimes, not fall, which causes day-to-day weather to be cloudy. More often than not, the skies will be overcast - sunny skies are more of a rarity. Additionally, the Torrez Effect contributes to especially violent weather patterns, from hurricanes to tornadoes to thunderstorms.

An especially fearsome variant of storm unique to Valdera is the Magstorm. Although it's a rarity, it is the result of a CME from Cvet interacting with Valdera's magnetosphere, and the high concentrations of Argon in the atmosphere. This leads to a quick-forming thunderstorm, characterized by purple lighting. In the past, they were far more of a hazard, forming in a moment's notice and typically killing anyone caught outside and causing heavy damage to buildings. New technologies have allowed the International Weather Service to quickly send out predictive warnings and storm alerts if one forms, as well as new construction methods and materials reinforcing buildings against them. Magstorms are more common, and more intense, the closer one is to the magnetic poles.

This is reflected in how there are very few entirely-glass skyscrapers in Valderan cities.

Lighting

Due to Valdera's distance from the sun, as well as Cvet having a slightly lesser magnitude, ambient lighting during the day is a bit less than it is on Earth. Although by no means dark on it's own, this, in combination with the thick cloud cover, can sometimes lead to times where it is pitch black outside at midday.

Additionally, the presence of Argon in the atmosphere as well as some other trace gases has lead to the color of sunrises being a blueish-green, and the colors of sunsets being purple.

Provided the skies are at least somewhat clear, nighttimes can sometimes be fairly bright. The reflected by K'delý is a light reddish, which combines with the dim white provided by Bojana, making ambient lighting at night a reddish-white color.

Temperature

Valdera's distance from the sun as well as Cvet's lesser magnitude is also reflected in the average temperature on Valdera, 15.2 degrees celsius. Although it's still temperate, most areas are generally cold. However, this isn't as much of a planetary rule as it is a trend - there are still a wide range of biomes on Valdera - however, wet jungles are exceedingly rare, and considered extinct as a result of the Kreml war.

Flora and Fauna

Prior to the arrival of the Valderans, Tau Ceti II was in a state similar to Earth's Neogene period. Plant life was thriving, and animal life was largely limited to fish, avians, reptiles, and some small mammals. When the Valderans were brought to Tau Ceti II, those responsible brought along plants and animals that would later be domesticated by Humans as livestock. As such, in the modern era, Valdera has lots of the same plant and animal life as Earth, albeit having undergone 800,000 years of divergent evolution on a completely different planet.

Because of this, Valderans eat many of the same foods that we do. Corn, potatoes, beef, pork, tomatoes - the list goes on. There are also plant and animal species unique to Valdera, like there are on

As one might expect, they lack any mammals domesticated for companionship (of course, there are still people who have pet pigs and other such animals, it's just not all too common) and instead, reptiles fill that niche. Snakes, lizards, iguanas, and many others are popular pets - the equivalent 'cat versus dog' debate on Valdera is 'lizard versus snake.' Horses are also present on Valdera, which were domesticated similarly and saw the same uses as on Earth.

Continents

The four primary continental landmasses in Valdera are arranged in a way so that they're not on opposing sides of the planet, and rather, fairly close to each other. They are arranged around a massive crater which lies along the equator, which is the result of an impact that is presumed to have taken place 4,250 million years ago.

Below are the 4 main continents, as well as some of the notable locations on them. However, just like on Earth, there is a massive amount of things to experience in a single continent, let alone the entire planet. So much so that they can't be encompassed in a single page, or an entire book - and as such, these locations will be ones that you'd be recommended to visit if you were a Human tourist on Valdera. (Something which, on Earth, is entirely possible by the 2040s.)

Vitova
Geographic location: Southern Hemisphere

Climate: Warm and Dry

Primary Demographics: Hyaenidae, Felidae, Canidae

Notable natural locations:

Cliffs of Konotop - Overlooking the Rekanian Strait are a series of sheer cliffs, giving one a spectacular view of the entire channel.

Kentau Basalt Caves: Found on the eastern coast of Vitova are the Kentau Basalt Caves, where remarkable columnar can be found.

Khan Desert: Not too far south from the north coast is the Khan Desert, where remarkable rock formations, ranging from towering mesas to arches carved from the rock face can be found.

Korosten' Crater: The Korosten' Crater is the caldera of an extinct volcano which collapsed around four million years ago. It is roughly 240 kilometers wide, and 550 kilometers deep.

Aralsk National Forest: A small forest on the southeastern coast near Kirril, where close relatives of the Sequoia tree grow.

Notable artificial locations:

Myrohod - A historic city, formerly the capital of the Great Kreml. There are a wide range of tourist locations, such as the Musin Boulevard Memorial, a sculpture dedicated to those who Viktor sterilized through his programs. His own command bunker, within the city's metropolitan area, is open for tours.

Kabli - A medium-sized maritime town, most well-known for being the site of the Midsummer Crossing, where Embersonian troops, for the first time, established a beachhead in Kreml territory. It is now a popular tourist destination, with the beach fortifications, pummeled from orbit, left as they were on the day of the invasion.
Saint Davinia's Cathedral - Located in the city of Banham, on the east coast, Saint Davinia's Cathedral is one of the oldest religious institutions on Valdera- dating back nearly to the writing of the Articles of Creation.

Vyskov Fortress - Located near its namesake city, the Vyskov Fortress was an extensive complex embedded within the side of the Kozák mountain. Like many other former Kreml military facilities, it has been converted into a tourist attraction and war memorial, after having been refurbished and made safer following seismic weapon bombardments.

Dedis Museum: Found in Myrohod is the Dedis Museum, where the Great Kreml housed many of their pillaged artifacts and art pieces. Those have since been returned to their original owners, but it still remains a museum, with new wings dedicated to archiving the massive amount of camera footage and images that exist of the Kreml War.

Kirril

Geographic location: Southern hemisphere, northeast of Vitova

Climate: Warm and Dry

Primary Demographics: Canidae and Felidae

Notable natural locations:

Lonnie's Cave - The biggest traversable cave system on Valdera, within the Avala mountain. As of a 2092 survey, it was 54,000 meters long, and it is suspected that there are more sections of the cave which are hidden behind collapsed rocks. It is fully equipped to handle tourists, with implements ranging from handrails in dangerous areas to an electric rail system.

Prostějov Bay - Formerly regarded as one of the most scenic beaches on the planet, the Prostějov Bay now serves as a war memorial and example of how easily ecology can be destroyed. Before the Kreml War, it was a remarkable Mediterranean-esque location, as opposed to the somewhat barren beach it is today.

Mount Moravany - Moravany is an extinct stratovolcano, 5,782 meters tall. It is a popular destination for hikers due to the geothermal hot springs which surround the base and line the slopes.

Bozydar Crater - 142 meters deep and 1.08 kilometers across, the Bozydar crater was the result of the first recorded meteorite impact in Valderan history. In the modern era, it is a popular tourist institution, and a historic site, as the Bozydar impact led to a period of peace that lasted a century and a half.

Kynceľová Canyon - A large gorge around 90 meters deep, 185 meters wide, and four kilometers long. It is oddly geometric, and presumed to have been formed when a diabase sill split open around a billion years ago, with erosion carrying on the job.

Notable artificial locations:

Roşiori Power Generating Station - The first commercial nuclear reactor, it was constructed near the farming village of Ashford in 1948 using a Magnes reactor design. The power plant as a whole was decommissioned in 1992. In 2024, it was converted into a museum for nuclear power. In 2095, there are a wide range of tours one can take of the power plant.

Třebčice - A coastal resort city that was largely untouched by the Kreml war, nestled in a pristine cove on the east coast. Much of the original architecture still survives to this day, and there are very few panel housing complexes in the city.

Terchová Tower - The TT is, as the name implies, a television tower in the historic city of Terchová, notable for being the tallest free-standing structures on the planet. It is additionally an observation tower and restaurant. From the restaurant, one can see two major landmarks - Fort Sebastian, a one thousand-year-old castle, and a memorial for City Center Tower 2, which collapsed after intense fires caused by Napalm bombardments in that quarter of the city during the Kreml war.

Kelčany - Kelčany, or the Underground City, as it is known, is not much of a city, nor is it predominantly underground. The name comes from an extensive bomb shelter complex built under the city, which in the postwar period, was converted to a miniature town. Within the complex is a hotel, a multitude of restaurants, a movie theater, and many other popular destinations.

Tabir Walls: In the city of Halq, on Kirril's northern coast, are the Tabir Walls, fortifications built around the city center, one thousand years prior. Although damaged during a siege in the 800s, and damaged further during the Kreml war, they are still a popular tourist destination due to their age and the many other ancient artifacts within the city. In the modern day, the walls 'protect' Halq's financial district.

Posad

Geographic location: Northern hemisphere, north of Vitova

Climate: Cold and Dry

Primary Demographics: Canidae, Ursidae, and Felidae

Notable natural locations:

Morzyca Crater - The largest crater that came as a result of the Night of Hell, a meteor shower in 1872. It is 200 meters deep, and 1.4 kilometers wide. Fragments from the iron-nickel meteorite are on display in the nearby visitor center.

Pasłęk Hot Springs - Found in the eastern areas of Posad, the Pasłęk Hot Springs are sat atop a series of geothermal vents under the surface that came about as a result of continental fractures from a massive meteor impact, 4,250 million years ago. The springs themselves are a part of a larger geyser field.

Porazava - The Porazavan Plateau is an area of bizarre karst topography. Odd rock formations line the landscape, crowned by a massive sinkhole known as Tyczny. At the bottom of this sinkhole is Jagoda's Tomb, an ancient structure containing the mummified body of it's namesake. This, in combination with the remarkable landscape, make it a popular destination.

Great Divide - On the eastern coast of Posad, the Great Divide is a large canyon, 17 kilometers wide, and 1.3 kilometers deep. The river which carved it has since become a basin. Nonetheless, the Great Divide is a religious location, because it is commonly thought that the Articles of Creation were written after an individual witnessed the sunrise here.

Leimaņi Falls - In the far north of Posad, close to the arctic circle, the Leimaņi River sees it's start from glacial melt, eventually widening until it reaches the spectacular Leimaņi Falls. At the center, it is 187 meters tall.

Notable artificial locations:

Barnaul - In the far northeast of Posad, the city of Barnaul is home to the Barnaul Command Center as well as the Paraskeva Mabel Propulsion Institute. These come together to make Barnaul a hub for technological innovation. In addition, there are a wide range of historical sites to visit, such as Rafail's Cathedral and Pylyp Field, which is regarded as where the popular sport of Ráchístna saw its start.

Gray Hall - An underground command bunker, where the Embersonian Military was largely headquartered. Like many other military structures, it has since been memorialized, and is now open to tours.

Polegate - Prior to the Kreml War, Polegate was a small farming village, with a population of 728. It bears no strategic value in the region - it's not at a high point, not near a highway, nothing of the sort. However, when the war began, this village was selected by the Kreml military to test their nerve agent and defoliant, Red Sunrise. A drone strike was carried out, early in the morning, killing every resident of the village. The person who ordered the strike, Devon Konstantin, was killed in a car bombing carried out by Yaransk partisans two years later. Having been a position of strategic unimportance, it was left untouched by the war. In the modern era, the entire village has been memorialized, with the position bodies had been in outlined on the floor, with framed photographs of the victims present at every outline. It is a grim reminder of the civilian casualties war brings.

Lubartow Cosmodrome - Found just past the western Babia Gora mountain range, the Lubartow Cosmodrome is regarded as the birthplace of aerospace. Since space programs such as the one operated out of Lubartow had become obsolete with the discovery of efficient and effective ion propulsion in the 2000s, Lubartow was converted into a recreational and historical area. The many launch pads, Vehicle Assembly Buildings, and prototype shuttlecraft testing facilities are all open for the public to visit.

Kapići - Formerly the capitol of the Embersonian Federation, Kapići is a historical city with a wide range of things to see. Although the capitol building is still in use by the Posadian Continental Authority, many other governmental buildings are open for tours. There are also many war memorials here, due to the city being a common bombing target during the war.

Pirogovo Lake - Part of the broader Liskovac Protected Wildlands, the Pirogovo Lake is a pristine lake fed by glacial melt from the Ferenc Range. It, and much of the alpine forest around it, were untouched by the Kreml war, making it a very popular travel destination.

Tatarino Ridge - Formed as a result of the meteor impact 4,250 million years ago, the Tatarino Ridge is part of a larger series of shock ridges that overlook the Eastern Ocean. It is a common destination for both hikers and the religious, as the underwater crater has a sacred connotation amongst the religious.

Szivala's Archipelago - A series of boreal forested islands, south of the Illintsian mainland, with multiple monolithic rock formations, which are sacred in Dunajec culture.

Northern Tundra - The Northern Tundra, and in specific the Kraljevo Valley, was formerly a volcanic plain, early in Valdera's development. Since the region has calmed, multiple extinct volcanic dikes jut out from the largely flat landscape, making it a very odd-looking region.

Petrut Ice Sheet - The Petrut Ice Sheet is connected to the Illinstian continent, spanning the northern arctic circle. In the past, it was a common place for meteor hunting, as they stand out in the snow. However, with direct access to meteors, this lost it's scientific value. Nonetheless,

Notable artificial locations:

Cearagrad - Cearagrad is a coastal city-state that had remained neutral in the Kreml war. In 2075, when calls for planetary unification came, it was decided that the Coalition Parliament was to be constructed there. The meeting hall itself has an entirely-glass wall that overlooks the famous Pier 2, where, during the war, a Kreml guided missile destroyer, the GK General Trifon, defied orders and deserted. The ship is still docked there, operating as a war museum, in addition to the several other warships, and a submarine, docked there.

Grand Kusovac Archive - Found in the far north city of Mala Rijeka, the Grand Kusovac Archive is a museum designed to protect priceless works of art and ancient artifacts from war. A bunker is positioned underneath, containing artifacts too precious to display - ancient scrolls, original copies of century-defining books, and the like.

Grudki - Grudki is a coastal city, with the coldest average temperatures of any settlement considered a city on Valdera. It is also the northernmost, the 'gateway' to the Petrut Ice Sheet. Nearby are the Turjaci Geothermal Springs, a tourist hotspot. (in a somewhat literal sense as well)

Prnjavor Fortress - The Prnjavor Fortress, nestled in a difficult-to-reach mountain range, was considered one of the most secure fortresses on the planet, prior to paratroopers becoming commonplace. Originally a castle built in the 200th century, it is now a popular, albeit isolated, tourist destination. Nearby are ski resorts and a wide range of caves.
