I prayed for Mother to have a drink of water,
Cause the sun was burning her up all day.
Father answered by bring snow our way.
Children played in the blanket in sweaters,
While adults complained for warmer weather.
Father started to cry for Mother Earth,
And his tears helped fill up her wondrous girth.
The rivers, lakes, and streams all rose higher.
As many would curse the snow and the rain,
I bless them, and thank you, oh Holy Lord.
For these miserable blessings on our land,
Will give us green leaves, and bountiful plains.
Soon the land will dry, and temperature sore.
Then I well pray for mercy from your hands.
