ice-blood shatters on the snow
sending crimson crystals splattering
her heart still thuds: da-dum, da-dum
breast rises and falls, staggered breaths
eyes are searching, losing light
but finding his; da-dum, pause
his grin like gravity drawing her in
the fire in her vain for a moment forgotten
da-dum quickens, crimson gushes
gravity grin slips, a snarl escapes
his eyes flash bloodred, a brief mirage
she feels his goodbye before he speaks
please don't leave me - voice freezes
precarious seconds, stretched for miles
spots bloom in her vision
but she still sees his golden eyes
boring into hers
an imperceptible shake of his head
he vanishes
leaving her
alone

gravity stops, and she floats
aimless
empty
ice
