In the painting,

I saw them,

The figures cowering by the tree.

Some shuddered in the shadows,

With blades drawn forth,

Pushing the scared,

Further away.

Others reached forth,

To the snake like being among its branches,

Climbing up to meet it.

Each one,

A striking show of human form,

Unhindered by garb.

It was in the painting,

I saw them,

The figures cowering by the tree.
