Chapter 8

The next day, the town's annual festival had arrived and was being held in the town's local park. Many people who had volunteered came early in the morning to set up. The park was more like a massive field than an actual park, but all the town's people called it so. On the outskirts of the park, a big stage stood tall. The fair attractions and stalls had been spread out several feet from the stage. They had all kinds of attractions for adults as well as the children. A fence had been placed to surround the event for the weekend with a huge balloon arch at the entrance. Just before entering the event, they had ticket boxes with barriers at the side and continuous barriers that were zigzagged all over to keep the queues in order. At the street to the side of the park, a ton of food trucks were lined up to face the event with wooden tables and chairs in front of them. The trucks closer to the events entrance was more for the children than the adults. The furthest truck from the event, Johnny and Melanie were. Inside, Melanie was filling up the fridges with booze and Johnny was hooking up the kegs to the designated beer taps.

Every volunteer had soon finished their tasks and at twelve noon, the event had started. The place was soon packed full of people. Most adults with children were stood in the queue waiting to get into the event. Adults without children had already started to pay visits to the food trucks. The event was in full swing and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. The band on stage were playing music with a couple of people singing and dancing along. In the mass of people, Charlie was seen with his daughter Kayla and Daniella. They stopped at a stall with tin cans stacked up and balls, where the aim of the game is to knock down all the tin cans to win a prize. Charlie handed the guy at the stall the money so Kayla could play. Picking up a ball, Kayla pulled it back and threw it at the tin cans. She missed the first time, but Charlie appeared behind her to show her how to do it. The second time she managed to hit all the tin cans down. They cheered with excitement and the guy at the stall handed her a medium sized unicorn teddy. Charlie hoisted her up on his back and held onto her legs so she didn't fall. She held onto her unicorn teddy by it's arm and it dangled in front of Charlie. Daniella looked on with a smile on her face. They moved over to go on one of the rides. Stopping at the dodgems, Charlie took a dodgem car with Kayla and he managed to convince Daniella to get in one. Kayla's unicorn teddy was sat at the side of Daniella while, Charlie and Kayla kept bumping into her dodgem. They continuously laughed every time they managed to bump into each other.

It had soon turned dark and the food trucks had died down. Johnny's food truck was the only one that seemed to be still that little bit busy. Johnny and Melanie continued to serve the few people left waiting. Once they had finished serving them, they both sighed with relief as the customers had moved on to the fair.

"Is it this bad every year?" Melanie wondered.

"No. Somehow, this year was worse" Johnny winced, while stretching his back.

"And you volunteer every year?"

"I don't mind. It's for charity" Johnny replied.

"Look, why don't you go take a break? Go get something to eat" he suggested.

"You want me get you anything?" she asked.

"Uh yeah. Get me a hot dog with some mustard."

"Ok" she said and left the truck.

"Oh and get me a coke too" he called out.

"Sure thing" she called back. Once she had left, Johnny leaned against the counter top facing away from the order window and huffed.

"Don't tell me you're out of beer already" a familiar voice spoke. Johnny turned to see Darius leaning against the truck with his arms folded.

"Darius, what you doing here?" Johnny inquired.

"Wondering if I can get a beer."

"Uh sure" Johnny said and handed him his usual favourite beer.

"Thanks" Darius muttered and handed him the money for it. He took a swig and Johnny went to pass him his change.

"Nah. Keep it. It's for charity after all."

"Alright" Johnny mumbled and placed it back in the basket.

"So, what are you doing here? You never come to charity events" Johnny wondered.

"Well, I thought I'd contribute a little to charity for a change" Darius said. Johnny laughed in disbelief.

"What?" Darius asked, pushing himself away from leaning on the truck to standing in front of the order window.

"I'm sorry, but you really think I believe that shit? I think it's obvious what you are here for" Johnny told him.

"Ok oh wise one. What am I here for?"

"Melanie" Johnny uttered. Darius scoffed at his response.

"What are you talking about? I'm not here for Melanie. I was bored at home, so I thought I'd come here" Darius denied.

"Whatever you say D" Johnny muttered. Darius rolled his eyes and continued to drink his beer. Johnny looked out towards the park when a glimpse of Ramone with some guy caught his eye. They walked along the park towards the fair. He watched as they had entered the fair, while holding hands.

"Hey D, can you do me a favour?" Johnny asked.

"I guess" Darius shrugged.

"Can you watch the truck for me and the charity money?" Johnny inquired, while exiting the truck.

"Why?"

"I just need to go do something."

"What?"

"Can you just watch the truck please?"

"Fine" Darius agreed.

"Oh and not that you care, but Melanie will be back soon" Johnny mentioned and took off towards the fair.

"Dick" Darius muttered under his breath and took another swig of his beer.

Entering the fair, Johnny looked around to see if he could see Ramone anywhere in sight. As he was nowhere in sight, Johnny ventured deep inside. He'd almost given up hope, when he suddenly seen him standing near the Ferris wheel. He smiled as he noticed that he was alone. As he walked up to him, the guy he came with suddenly appeared at the side of Ramone, stopping Johnny in his tracks. Johnny's jaw clenched as they linked arms. Without thinking, he continued to approach them.

"Ramone" Johnny said. Ramone and his date turned to face him.

"Johnny. Thought you were at the booze truck?" Ramone asked.

"Yeah I was. I am. I just thought I'd take a little break" Johnny informed him. Johnny caught himself staring at Ramone for a moment before he finally acknowledged Ramone's date.

"Sorry. Hi, I'm Johnny. Ramone's boss" greeted him, while extending his hand out for him to shake.

"Hi. I'm Leo" he replied, taking Johnny's hand and shaking it.

"Well I hope you enjoy your break, but Leo and I are going to ride the Ferris Wheel" Ramone mentioned, once both their hands had returned to their sides.

"Right. Have fun" Johnny muttered. In the instant that they turned to leave, Johnny stopped them.

"Ramone?" Ramone turned to face him once more.

"Could I talk to you for a second? In private" Johnny asked.

"Can't it wait until after?" Ramone wondered.

"Not really." Ramone nodded his head in agreement. Suddenly, Johnny grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the crowds to the back of a ghost train ride, where no one could see them. Once they were completely alone and out of sight, Johnny released his grip on Ramone's arm and turned to face him.

"Was the relocation necessary?" Ramone asked.

"Yes. Look, Ramone I'm sorry for what I said the other day about your date. I was being a dick and an idiot. I'm sorry" Johnny apologised.

"You're sorry? You took me away from my date to tell me that you're sorry?"

"Yeah."

"So, this really could have waited and you could have just said it out there in the open" Ramone argued.

"I guess I could have, but I wouldn't have been able to do this" Johnny said and suddenly cupped his cheeks, pulling him in for a kiss. As Johnny pulled away, Ramone's eyes slowly fluttered open.

"What was that?" Ramone whispered.

"A kiss. It's usually what someone does when they like that person" Johnny muttered. Removing Johnny's hands from his face, Ramone moved away creating some distance between each other.

"I'm sorry. I'm an idiot. I know I shouldn't have. You're on a date and I'm making moves on you, I mean doesn't get any stupider than that. I just wanted to know what it felt like to kiss you" Johnny admitted.

"How did it feel?" Ramone inquired.

"Fucking amazing." Ramone slowly approached him once more and moved in close. Once they were inches apart, Ramone cupped his cheeks and pulled him in for another kiss. Johnny moaned slightly as Ramone's tongue darted through his mouth. Pushing him against the back of the ride, Ramone's hand slid down towards Johnny's belt buckle. As he slid off his belt with ease, Ramone unbuttoned his pants next and reached down to grab his already hard cock. Johnny moaned as Ramone ran his hand up and down his shaft. Ramone started to move his hand faster and faster until Johnny could no longer take it and came.

"Sorry I came too fast" Johnny said breathlessly.

"It's alright. We can do other things, while we wait for little Johnny to get back up and running again" Ramone said. Johnny laughed and gave him a light peck on his lips.

"What about Leo? Shouldn't you be getting back to him?" Johnny wondered.

"No he'll understand. He's knows you're the one I want. You're the one I have always wanted" Ramone told him. With a smile, Johnny kissed him again. As their kiss deepened, they both fell to the floor.

Back at the booze truck, Darius stood inside leaning against the counter top. As he took a swig from his second bottle of beer, the truck's door swung open and Melanie made her way inside. She was balancing two hot dogs on one hand and had two cans of coke tucked under each arm. With her spare hand, she went to close the door. In all the motion, she hadn't looked up once to notice Darius standing there.

"Johnny, they ran out of mustard so I got you-" she stopped as she looked up to see Darius.

"Hi" Darius said.

"What are you doing in here?" she asked as she set down the cokes and the hot dogs on the side.

"Johnny asked me to take care of the truck while he went to go do something" Darius mentioned.

"What did he have to go do?" she asked. He simply shrugged at her response.

"When is going to be back?"

"No idea" he muttered.

"He just put me in charge until he gets back" he added.

"Ok. Let's get one thing straight. You are not in charge. I am" she told him.

"Oh really? Why is that?" he questioned.

"I have more experience than you" Melanie mentioned.

"Is that right?" he grinned.

"Yes. You wouldn't know the first thing about being a bartender" she jabbed.

"Actually, I was a bartender for two years at Johnny's before joining Mullins crew" he informed her.

"Really?" she asked, folding her arms over her chest.

"Yep. Women would line up every night to have me make them drinks" he smiled as he moved closer towards her, mimicking her stance.

"Wasn't sure though whether it was my drinks that made them come back or my ridiculously good looks." She scoffed and rolled her eyes at his response.

"Either way I'm still in charge" she said. He smirked and moved closer to her. They were soon inches away from each other.

"Ok boss, what do you want me to do first?" he purred.

"Well, for starters-" she started, while placing her hand on his chest.

"-You can fill the fridge over there with beer" she ordered, pushing him away slightly. Darius let out a low chuckle.

"As you wish" he agreed and started to fill the fridge.

Down the road, away from the fair, Charlie walked down the street with Daniella at the side of him and Kayla who was on Charlie's back fast asleep. It wasn't long before they reached Daniella's house. Making their way inside, Charlie took Kayla upstairs with Daniella following him. As they reached Kayla's room, Daniella pulled back her bed covers and helped Charlie put her into bed. Once she was in bed, Daniella took off Kayla's shoes and tucked her in. Giving her a light kiss on her forehead, Daniella and Charlie made their way back downstairs. As he made his way to the front door, he turned to face her.

"Thanks for today" Charlie muttered.

"No thank you. Kayla had a great time tonight" Daniella replied.

"I had a great time too" he mentioned. He grinned as he flashed a look towards her lips.

"Charlie, I know all your moves. Stop using them on me" she said.

"Sorry" he apologised. Licking her lips, she slowly pulled him in by his shirt. They were soon inches away from each other. Before he could lean in further, the door opened bumping into him. A look of confusion appeared on his face as he opened the door fully to see who it was. Standing in the doorway was an older looking man wearing a denim jacket and black jeans.

"Mullins?" Charlie spoke.

"Oh my god. Dad" Daniella uttered and went to embrace him.

"Hey baby girl" Mullins replied, returning her hug. Charlie watched as they continued to hug each other.

"I didn't know you were back" Daniella chirped.

"I just got back" he informed her. Breaking away from her hug, he smiled at her and gave her arm a gentle squeeze.

"Hey Mullins" Charlie muttered.

"Hey. How's it going?" Mullins wondered.

"Good. Nice to see you back."

"Good to be back."

"Well, I'll let you two catch up" Charlie said and went to leave.

"Hold on" Mullins said, stopping him in his tracks.

"Where are you going?" Mullins wondered.

"I uh- I promised Darius I'd go see him at his place" Charlie lied.

"Darius isn't home. It's the first place I went when I came back into town" Mullins mentioned.

"No doubt he's with some girl" Mullins added.

"Yeah probably" Charlie agreed.

"Look, why don't you stay and have a drink with us? We can catch up" Mullins suggested.

"Well I don't if I should intrude. I mean it's been a while since you have seen your daughter."

"Don't worry about it. We are practically family. Come on just a few." Mullins urged. Charlie finally agreed and they all sat down together in the living room.

Back at the fair, the booze truck had picked up again. As Johnny still hadn't returned, Darius had remained there and began serving the customers. Every so often, with them being in such a confined space, Darius squeezed behind Melanie. Every time he did so, he placed his hands on her hips only for a few seconds and move over to the other side of the truck. In every instance, Melanie would feel his bulge brush passed her and it irritated her. Soon, they had finished serving everyone and Melanie sighed with relief. Her relief was short lived as Darius brushed passed her once more.

"Could you stop that?" she snapped.

"Stop what?" Darius wondered, pretending to play dumb.

"Every time you do that, I feel your dick against my ass" she informed him.

"It's a small space. What would you have me do?" he smiled.

"Stick to one side" she spat.

"What if I need something on the other side?" he inquired.

"Then I'll pass it to you."

"I don't think that's going to work. I mean, what if you are busy with a customer and you can't give me what I want?" he wondered, moving closer to her.

"What then?" he asked, glancing down at her lips. She let out a low chuckle.

"Fine. You want to play games? That's fine with me" she replied. Turning round to the front of the truck window, she noticed a man walking towards them. As he approached the window, Melanie smiled down at him. Deliberately standing in front of Darius, she suddenly bent over so that her ass was pushed against his crotch. Darius couldn't help, but let out a slight moan and soon started smirking.

"Hi, what can I get you?" Melanie asked the guy.

"Uh I'll get a pitcher of Johnny's own brew" the guy replied.

"Coming right up" she said and moved over to the right beer tap. Darius's smirk still remained as she poured the guy his drink.

"Also, can I get a bottle of Coors light?" Melanie agreed and placed the pitcher on the side. As she walked over to get to the fridge, she moved passed Darius pressing her breasts against his chest. He bit his lip and let out a low chuckle. Once she had grabbed the bottle, she had returned to the other side of the truck, grazing his crotch with the back of her hand. The motion caused him to moan a little louder, but managed to disguise it by clearing his throat.

"Here. Keep the change" the guy said as he passed Melanie the money. As the guy left, they were once again without customers. Everyone nearby had gone back to the fair. As Melanie turned back to Darius, she flashed him a satisfied smile.

"Ok. You win. I will stop" he smiled. He moved closer to her until he was a few feet away.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Nothing" he muttered, moving closer. Soon, he was inches away from her.

"I know what you're thinking, but it's not going to happen. I'm not having sex with you again" she informed him. He laughed at her response.

"I believe you said that the first time and then look what happened" he purred.

"Is that why you showed up here tonight? Because you were hoping I would fuck you?"

"No. Me coming here had nothing to do with you" he denied.

"Really?" she wondered, moving closer to him.

"Alright, maybe about ten percent was about you" he admitted.

"Only ten?" she whispered, curling one of her fingers around a belt loop on his jeans pulling him closer. As they were now hip to hip, their breathing had become uneven.

"Ok. Thirty" he corrected.

"Thirty?"

"Yep. Thirty" he affirmed. He swallowed as she directed his hands to take hold of either side of her waist.

"Ok. Maybe it was fifty." With a smile, she closed the gap between them and placed her lips onto his. Moaning slightly, Darius returned the kiss.

"Ok. A hundred percent. One hundred percent about you" he muffled against her lips. As he pushed her against the counter top, she moaned and opened her mouth to provide more access. As his tongue darted through her mouth, she moaned even louder.

"Perhaps we should close the shutters or something" he breathed.

"Never figured you for the shy type" she said as his mouth moved to her neck.

"I'm not. I just think what if a kid comes by?" he mumbled.

"They are way too busy with the fair to come to a booze truck" she moaned.

"What if we get customers?"

"Then we'll give them a show" she muttered. Grabbing his head, she pulled him back to her lips. Briefly parting lips, Darius pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it to the side. She pushed him to the counter top on the other side and he grabbed her ass to pull her up. Her legs wrapped around him and he spun her around so she was sat on the counter top. Before they looked like they were about to devour each other, a voice stopped them in their tracks.

"Whoa" the voice spoke. As they turned to the window, two teenage boys stood with their mouths wide open.

"Shit" Melanie cursed and shot down out of sight.

"Hey. Get out of here" Darius shouted. The volume of his shouting was enough to get the boys running.

"You perverts" he called out to them. They soon disappeared into the distance and Darius looked down to Melanie, who had covered her face with her hands.

"Are you ok?" he asked as he knelt down. As she removed her hands, he saw her how red her face was from embarrassment. Suddenly, she started laughing uncontrollably. As she giggled away to herself, it wasn't long before Darius joined in.

"Told you we should have closed the shutters" Darius said. She nodded in agreement and continued to laugh.

Back in Dursley, Trey was walking down the road. He stopped in front of a bar and looked through the window. A smile appeared on his face when he saw a guy at the end of the beer. He was shovelling peanuts into his mouth and a beer in front of him. Making his way into the bar, Trey sat a few seats away from him at the bar.

"Can I get a Jack Daniels and coke?" he asked the bartender. The bartender nodded and started to make his drink. Trey looked over at the guy.

"Gary?" Trey said, grabbing the guys attention.

"It is you. How's it going?" Trey wondered.

"Trey? What are you doing here?" Gary inquired.

"Just come for a drink. It's good to see you. How's the kids?"

"They are driving me crazy, but other than that they are good" Gary replied. Trey chuckled at his response.

"It's good seeing you."

"Hey bartender, could I get him another beer?" Trey said to the bartender.

"You don't have to do that" Gary muttered.

"It's fine. I haven't seen you in a while. It's the least I can do."

"Alright. Thanks."

"No worries" Trey uttered and took a sip from his drink.

"Hey Trey, do you want to join me? We can catch up and I could buy the next round" Gary questioned.

"Uh, sure" he replied and joined Gary. As he sat on the stool next to him, Trey flashed him a smile.

"So, how are you doing? Still with that uh- what's her name?" Gary asked.

"Melanie. Yeah. Yeah, we're still together" Trey answered.

"She's a good looking girl. You must feel so lucky."

"I do. I feel lucky everyday I'm with her."

"So Gary, you still working at the train station security office?" Trey wondered.

"Yeah. Been going on about five years now."

"That's great. Really great" he smiled.
