Hey, yeah this is up again, and I'm taking it seriously this time. I'm updating once a week, I have had this story in my mind for years, and in this time I have built a world and an actual plot to the story written out and planned...roughly. I have great plans for not just this story but the entire series as a whole. Though I'm not expecting a lot of attention, merely to give my fantasy world the breath of life. Even if it is on a shitty, dead-fiction site like Fictionpress. I am going to update once a week every week. It's time I get this shit done. if you're not expecting something grand, good. this story is going to be just another cheap fantasy story with the typical dark lord bullshit.

It was a cold night. Captain Colithir and his men marched around the outside of the temple, ten miles out, the size of the temple grounds was about thirty miles large all around. It was the temple of the dark lord, they were on high alert, and there were those who wanted to see the dark lord free from his prison. The sounds of crickets, and owls out in the night sky were heard throughout the night. There was no other sound, elves have good hearing. Hearing that rivals that of a bloodhound. Good smell too.

Suddenly everything went quiet. And the soldiers all stopped, ready for battle. It would not be the first time the temple was attacked by the followers of the dark lord, It had been attacked many times in the past but they had always managed to fight them off. They were weak without their lord to lead them and mighty paladins helped control the fights as well. Suddenly an arrow was shot, one of the guards was shot.

"Anti-magic arrows", Colithir growled in anger at this. Suddenly more arrows were shot and there was a stomping that shook the very ground below their feet. "Warn the temple!" Colithir yelled and one of the guards raced off to warn them.

A shriek pierced the night. The guards blood all ran cold. "A guardian," Colithir said nervously.

The guards shook with fear suddenly they were ambushed by the followers of the dark lord, dark elves and children of the dark lord himself. They wore clothes so black they could barely be seen in the dark of the night. The guards fought valiantly, parrying blows with the dark elves, parrying blows and firing spells left and right.

Suddenly the guardian appeared, a giant monstrosity charged forward. Thick black stone-like armor covered it, teeth large and sharp. It had no eyes, yet could somehow know exactly where they were. It crunched down on the guards screaming shrieks of fear rose around them. Colithir glared at it and lifted his hand, a strong bolt of fire shot forth and hit the beast. It was knocked back, the hit was so strong it fell over. It bellowed in anger, it's roar shook the ground as it did so, it was not even scratched though, only pissed off. He parried a blow from a knife from a dark elf and jabbed with his sword, the dark elf, a female swiftly dodged and lifted her arm.

Her arm became a large black paw with sharp claws, it was six feet long and three feet wide. She lunged at him he dodged the blow but was quickly stabbed by a knife in the side. He gasped and looked to his left a dark elf had gotten him he looked at his other foe in horror as her claw swung at him he cried in agony as he was torn apart and died.

The dark elves raced to the temple cutting down guards left and right, it was a full-on assault, Teryriina cut down another guard.

"Quickly, we must keep going, make your way to the temple, and keep control of the guardian."

"Teryriina I don't know how much longer I will be able to hold its mind." A brother said to her looking at it with worry.

She grabbed him by his shirt, her blood-red eyes glaring at him in anger, "it will be until I tell you to stop fool."

"Maybe I should reapply the spell."

"Obviously, fool", She spat. "Let's go!" She yelled and raced off to the temple, they went into the shadows. They quietly and silently made their way to the temple ready to continue the battle, they came upon another patrol and slaughtered them with the help of the guardian. They knew the way to the temple all too well. They could feel the faint power of their father. Maldun. They reached the temple and they attacked. It was complete chaos in the battle.

They snuck passed the fighting to the temple and went into it, they fought guards and slew them as they made their way to the heart of the temple. The guards were few but stronger the further they went. One of the dark elves was stabbed on the way, but they continued on. They had to, too much was at stake here. They went into the temple and found a paladin glaring at them, a powerful paladin. He wore strong armor and had a scar across his left eye, he was bulky and tall, over six feet easily.

"Selkoth, I never thought they'd put you in here", Teryriina said to him. He lifted his sword silently, a single green eye glaring at her, his sword was a bulky sword, a bulky sword for a bulky warrior. Teryriina smiled, "I would have thought they'd have put someone better in magic here, rather than one with simple brawn!" She lunged at him, dark shadows enveloping her arms, claws coming out of them, the shadows of the magic was darker than the blackest night.

He glared at her, "do not underestimate me fool!" He yelled and swung his sword at her. It glowed a bright white it cut right through her arm like nothing, she screamed as her arm was cut off. The magic faded and her arm was cut in half. She ducked under a swing of his sword at her neck, barely dodging it. She held her arm, blood gushed from her wound, but she barely felt it in all honesty, the adrenaline had kicked in. The others quickly came at him as well, not using dark magic as it proved ineffective.

Instead using their knives to parry and jab at him, their knives were not ordinary, they were imbued with poison magic that would kill him slowly if cut by it. He was distracted as six dark elves fought him at once, Teryriina looked to the stone on the pedestal in the middle of the room and smiled. She slowly and silently snuck over to it, Selkoth was too distracted by the six opponents to notice, much less do anything to stop her. She gently took the stone and looked at it in her hands with glee. "Father." She said looking at the stone lovingly.

"Teryriina, look out!" She Whipped around and gasped as a bolt of thunder magic was shot at her, she rolled away as it hit the pedestal and exploded it. She looked to Selkoth and glared, she fell to her knees however, the blood loss from her wound was great, Selkoth stabbed a dark elf that got too close in the head killing him. He parried another blow and swung again but missed, he dodged a stab and swung behind him as another dark elf came at him with shadow claws, he cut it in half making her scream and lopped her head off.

Teryriina grunted at this, they would never get him out at this rate, so close… and for what? Just to fail? She thought bitterly as she laid on the ground still bleeding. Another dark elf slayed, another dark elf dead, now only three remained to fight him. She stood grunting and took out her knife, she would die either way. She would die trying to complete the mission and save her father.

She put the stone in her pocket and walked towards Selkoth he was distracted and had only one eye. In theory she could easily stab him in his blind side. Of course if this were the case he'd have been dead by now, he was fighting six opponents. She gasped as she walked towards him she stopped, there was one way to do this and one way only.

She dropped the knife and held her hand out at him, a blue ball of magic appeared and sparked with electric power. Selkoth looked at her a second still trying to fight off the other dark elves. One of them stabbed him in the side. Or tried to they found his armor was too strong to penetrate, it was armor of the old ages. He turned and swung at him parrying and blocking blows as he tried to keep an eye on Teryriina as well. The ball of magic was a foot in diameter now.

"What the hell…" he said horrified realizing she was willing to throw away her own life for this wicked cause. She fired the bolt at him and he tried to dodge, but it was so fast he didn't even have time to move a finger before it hit him. He exploded into dust with a wail and his sword dropped.

Teryriina fell as well dead, she had used the last of her life to stop him.

One of them took the stone in his hands. "Father… your daughter loved you much." He put the stone to his head affectionately then turned to his siblings, "we must go." They left, the guardian had gotten free and was now rampaging around killing friend and foe alike. He took out a horn and blew it. They had the stone they quickly fled, the guards were unable to keep up, a dark elf that does not want to be followed is impossible to follow. They also had to deal with the guardian rampaging about the temple.

I hope you enjoyed and I'm sorry for any errors, I read it through four times before posting and honestly kinda rushed it because I could have gone until Sunday.
