Courage's Lament (Cause)

The cause is all it was meant to be,
We're off to do our service.
And for it many will be free,
Let us be revered as heroes.

Who wouldn't want the glory?
Who wouldn't want the fun?
Perhaps they'll write a story,
Just measuring what we've done.

The way we write to our loved ones,
Can almost be described as chivalry.
"At least we're not up against the Huns",
I describe to my younger siblings.

First march reigns today,
Hope my training will suffice.
The ground seems as hard clay,
And all that's left is to roll the dice.

Excitement is overwhelming,
Adrenaline could never get tiresome.
