Authors little err.big note: Sorry about the typos in the last chapter, I didn't exactly proof it the way I usually do, instead I posted it. Silly me, should have made the world wait and sent it to my dearest 'editor' Kat. Yes she can be nice than her namesake. *cough* *cough* Anyway, special thanks to her, Meeko, June and Jammer (they threaten me with death and reward me with cookies :D); to Sirena (Thanks for the review on the other story too) who has no connection and acually keeps returning!; and too Striderhunter (YAY! 2 reviews! Love your story by the way heh hope you read this chapter) for bothering to leave his preferred genre to read and put up with my little fantasy.

There was only one guard on duty in the prison. The others had been moved to search for the assassins. Katherine was able to knock him unconscious easily. She then pointed to a closet; in the closet the men found Iken armor and weapons. They refrained from talking, fearing that a spell might be activated.

As the men dressed as Ikens, Katherine opened a large book which listed all the prisoners, their feeding schedule and room number, and release date. Only two prisoners had no feeding schedule or name, one was in an execution room and the other was in a torture room. Katherine led the group to the torture room and opened the door.

The Fox was chained to the far wall, he was thin. The room had been cleared of many torture devices, they probably being used on another prisoner today. As the fox heard them enter, he sighed painfully, believing that he would be tortured again. Even Katherine was shocked at his condition.

The thinner man ran through the door and across the room to the Fox. He attempted to hack the chains that bound the Fox's arms, legs, and waist. When the chains didn't give, the larger man began to assist the thinner man. Katherine shook her head at them and coughed loudly. The men looked over at her.

"Excuse me," Katherine walked over and whispered a spell. The chains fell free and the Fox slumped to the ground. She then arrogantly addressed the men, "Those are spell chains, only the General or one with magic can open them, and even then a password is needed." The men rushed forward to help the "Fox" up. Katherine continued, mostly to herself, "The only way a group of us could escape now, is for us to convince the guards that we are following the General's orders."

The large man glanced up from the Fox to Katherine, "And they will believe that he sent a group of *Myens* to do his work?"

"They won't see the girl, the boy will be ignored, and they will see two Iken soldiers escorting a prisoner to my work room, so that I can cast a spell on him."

Scoffing at Katherine, the larger man said bitterly, "Why would they believe *you,* you are a Myen female?"

"Because they think I'm bound to the General."

"How do we know you aren't bound to the General? This could easily be a trick."

"He is a cruel, stupid, greedy pig and I'd not be able to say that if I was bound to him."

"That doesn't make you trustworthy."

"Neither does your *claim* of being in the rebellion. You could easily be planning to turn me over to your Lord along with the Fox, if that is the real Fox, and tossing the children over to a slave auction for money."

Matthew watched the exchange and attempted to figure out who to trust and how much. Both stories made sense, but seemed too convenient. All he knew was that the moment he could he was taking Alicia away from all of them. He turned his attention to his sister whom he noticed was getting angry at the two adults.

"Lady, how sure are you of your ability to conceal our appearance?" the thin man asked an attempt to be logical and in hope that logic could cool two tempers.

"I wasn't a double agent for nothing. It's a simple spell."

Everyone stared a Katherine, except the unconscious Fox. Neither Matthew nor Alicia could figure out why she would need to be a double agent. Had something happened while they were trapped? Had they been stolen from home and now were located in another country along one of the borders? And *why* were the others so surprised at her announcement?

"When the war was lost, I pretended to be a simple traitor. I was bound to the now dead Lord in order to ensure my loyalty. As a Highest Mage, my abilities were not as limited as other may have been. If I had any part in the Lord's death, the bindings would have killed me immediately."

The men shivered at the last sentence, to be killed by her binding would mean being killed by her own magic. Many believed this would cause the soul to become caught in the body, forever.

After a little more discussion, the men were concealed in borrowed armor and a simple spell. Matthew and Alicia tended to the Fox as that occurred. After he regained consciousness, Alicia fed him bread softened by water and helped him sip from a cup of water. Matthew, following his sister's orders, hummed softly to the Fox.

Katherine finished the spell and went white, she heard Matthew's singing. The magic in his voice could be heard even as he hummed. The two men stared at Matthew as their attention shifted from Katherine.

"What is he doing!? We never gave him permission to cast a spell on the Fox!"

Alicia looked up at the men, "He can't do spells, besides he is only humming."

Matthew, as he finished the last stanza, defended himself, "I didn't mean any harm, I was only calming him down. It would work better if he sung though." As Matthew spoke the Fox began to toss and turn feverishly.

"No time. We must go now." Katherine helped the two "guards" lift the Fox up. He hung limply between the men, his head bent downward. She then gave Alicia and Matthew new commands. Alicia was to continue to follow them out of sight and Matthew was to stay behind her and look like her apprentice.

Moments later the group reached the work room and Katherine had just one more piece of business to attend to before she left.

A/N: Yes, I'm talking again. Not a big cliffhanger more like a curb. Of course, if you try parallel parking the curb is a bad thing. Be nice, review. You know you want to! If you review then I'll review your stories (I'll even read them first!), except you Kat because you know what I think of yours before you even post them and I am too lazy. Besides, Fanfiction gets WAY too many reviews. (DON'T GLARE AT ME!) Ok then. If you aren't Kat, then review; if you are Kat REVIEW! Mwahahahahah.
