Dear Teacher
Dear Teacher:
I'm writing this letter because I want to know,
How our educational system could get so low.
"Spelling counts" That's what you say.
But on question #3, I don't think "liscence" is spelled that way.
You sit at your desk, giving out rules in a voice stern, commanding and proud.
But the class can't hear you because they're too loud.
Armed with only your wits, a ruler and a faint glimmer of hope
You fight against makeup, screaming and wonder how you can ever cope
With this crazy group who instead of talking howl and yelp
And let's face it, the Principal isn't that much help
With the kids that are nuts, he doesn't know what to do
And the board of Education doesn't have a clue.
They scream tests are the answer. Yes they're the ones
Who complain about the school while stealing its funds.
Teachers have no chalk or pencils and overbooked courses
While those higher up buy boats and horses.
There's another thing dear Teacher that confuses me so,
Something important I want to know.
Why is it when we're talking with our friends you make such a fuss?
And when you do it it's okay. Why yell at us?
But even with your faults I admit you teachers are a strong willed race
You'd have to be to survive this place.
