Fire

Flint on steel, a rotary stick, matches
Lightning from unassuming conception
Brightly burning, flaming madly, catches
Mind, body, soul, and imagination
Candles, infernos, holocausts, and pyres
Incandescent heat and light in wedlock.
Flickering in the dusky sky, a fire
Changes human meaning, mankind to rock
Never knew love, compassion, and sorrow
Until a flame's warm intimate greeting
A lover most fear to treasure and know
Emotion in a blaze of zeal's leaving
Blazes light the torch of modern mortals
As the blazing flames chuckle and chortle
