A/N: THANK YOU TO SMI AND KITTLE FOR REVIEWING AND GOOD JOB FOR GUESSING WHAT IS TO COME!

I don't know what happened, I must have fallen asleep right there with Adam, because the next thing I knew, Adam was gone and I was lying on his couch with a blanket pulled up to my chin. I stretched and sat up to squint at the clock across the room. The green numbers read 9:18.

"Hey, how are you doing?" I turned at the sound of the voice to see Adam standing in the doorway, wearing red plaid pajama pants and nothing else. Wow, was the first thought that popped into my head, but that was quickly replaced with the painful reminder of what had happened last night.

"I'm okay." I replied, voice cracking.

"Yeah right," he shot back smiling. He cam over and pulled me into a huge bear hug. "Can I speak bluntly?"

"Umm, okay, sure why not?" I said

"It's about Jon. I suspected he had been cheating on you for a couple of months now. I wasn't sure so I didn't say anything. Cassie, I didn't want to see you get hurt, but I truly believe that Jon isn't the right one for you. You are too independent and he was just so demanding. Do you know what I mean?" His emerald green eyes searched my face for a reaction or an answer. His eyes were beautiful, deep and expressive, framed with dark lashes. How come I had never before noticed how sexy they were before?

I gave myself a mental slap. The reason you never noticed is because he is your best friend, I told myself, right now you are so hurt that you are finding anyone who cares and is male to be very attractive.

"Yeah I do Adam. But I kind of wish that you would have told me what you suspected. Next time, if there ever is a next time, please tell me."

"Ok that is a promise," he said with a grin. "Now what are you going to do today?"

"Actually I am planning to do the predictable. Go upstairs and pack all of Jon's stuff that is up there in boxes, and then go put it on his front porch. Want to help me?"

"Sure," he agreed. "But let's get some breakfast first. How about I whip up some pancakes and sausage, you know they are your favorite."

"Mmmm," I said, "Sounds great to me. I will go change while you get it ready." With that I climbed off the couch and headed upstairs...bad idea. As soon as I entered my apartment, tons of memories came flooding over me. I have this habit of "making a memory." When something happens, I memorize everything about the moment. Now every detail of the apartment reminded me of something. The dent in the lampshade is from the time when I tripped from laughing so hard. Jon helped me up and that was the first time he ever told me he loved me. The bookcase with The Count Of Monté Cristo, part of our book bet. The refrigerator in the kitchen filled with Orangina, Jon's favorite drink. It just got to be too much, I am dizzy, I have to sit down.

I must have been sitting on the floor for quite some time because soon I heard Adam's voice. "Cassie are you okay? You have been up here forever, what is going on?"

That snapped me out of whatever trance I had been in. "Adam, I will be right down. Gimme five minutes." Getting up I dashed to the bedroom where I threw on a pair of jeans and a tee shirt. Swearing at my lack of mind control right now, I ran a brush through my dark hair and yanked it back into a ponytail. Slipping on some flip flops I ran down the stairs.

Adam was standing over the stove flipping pancakes, "Grab a plate and sit down," he ordered without turning around. I complied and sat. He too had changed and I felt a twinge of disappointment. What?! Disappointment?! Come on Cassie you have got to stop thinking like that now! He was wearing a forest green shirt over jeans, which as I noticed as he turned around, complemented his eyes nicely. "Dig in." he said as he set the food down on the table.
