Ocean's Call
I heard it always
Through the rain and through the sky
Even miles away
I heard the ocean's call to me
And always wondered so how you could not
Was it a sign of my imperfections?
Are only the impure beckoned?
By it's deadly call
But I fought it for you
For all the nights your arms held me tight
For all the mornings your warm breath grazed my cold neck
For all the days you went away far and what seemed forever
For all the twilights I spent sitting, waiting for that fist glimpse of you again
For all those precious, perfect moments, golden memories now
I held on for you and only you
I fought the tide, the pull
Only knowing that nothing the ocean promised me
Would ever be close to as good as you
I fought, I was strong
Until that one twilight...
I waited trough the night and to the day
But you never came home again
The ocean took you from me
Jealousy raging it's bitter quest
The worst thing you ever did was love me in return
The ocean took you, and now I blame my fault
All that's left now are the memories of you
They come to me
Flying from the shore and to the curve of hill you came home to me by
That hill and those steps you will never walk again
And I will never see
Without you the ocean's call pulls stronger
I can't hold on
So armed with you in my head, my heart, and my soul always
I give in to the black chill of that vast mystery
That monster maiden that stole you for the cause of yearning me
The brine slowly swallows me in her icy foam
Singing loudly her victory
Now the ocean holds me in her grasp
As I watch her use my voice to sing the others that same fate
I will never see you again
Not even in death my love
For the ocean is eternal, as is the song she sings
And I my love am now as well
Captured, forever apart of the ocean's call itself
I am now the very thing that destroyed us, tore us apart until time's end
Do not miss me though love, for your tears would bring my own
Just know that always I will watch over you, catch your falls
And protect you from the vicious beauty of the ocean and her deadly call
Let legend warn of her song and let never it capture you in eternity
I heard it always
Through the rain and through the sky
Even miles away
I heard the ocean's call to me
And always wondered so how you could not
Was it a sign of my imperfections?
