Finally Rated: PG-13 By: Ari-chan

Notes and disclaimers: I titled this one finally not only because I just finally managed to write it but also because the plot is finally being exposed! So, lets all take a moment to do a happy dance, read this chap and then review.

All characters and plot belong to me. Any bands with a * next to them are made up and belong to me. Any other bands are real. Unless other wise mentioned all the song lyrics were written by me.

The lights were blue casting an eerie hue on the band and the audience. The guitarist was in the middle of a solo and the crowd (including myself) waited for the lead singer to come out. That’s all The Waves* has done so far. Just solos. Frankly I was getting annoyed, and it was hot too. There was no place to sit down and the place was jammed with bodies. Luckily Ira, Roxy and I had managed to get a place close up but near the wall so we could lean back. That’s what we were doing then. Just leaning back.

I cast a glance to Ira who was idly gazing about, taking in the scenery. Roxy was entranced and her body rocked slowly back and forth. I, on the other hand was totally bored! Could they just get on with it? I got that point that they could play. Now I wanted to know if they could sing. I shifted my weight again and waited.

It had started at 8 and already it was 8:30, still no sign of the lead singer. I was beginning to wonder if he was going to show and at all. But just as I was about the leave there was a drum roll followed by a giant roar. Onto the stage walked a man; actually he looked like a boy. His brown hair fell into his eyes as he looked out at the crowd. He grabbed the microphone and stared intensely out. There was a guitar riff then with a voice that could only be described as Kurt Cobain and Johnny Reznicks combined (yes that is possible) he began to sing.

-Your hair falls softly in your eyes

Shielding you from the world

But you can't hide forever

I said

As you’re protective shell cracked.

You've been exposed

You're vulnerable

There's no place to run

No place to hide

You've been exposed

Tears rise in your eyes

They shine like gems in the moonlight

I told you the truth

Would you rather I have lied?

You'd find out sooner or later anyway

Now You've been exposed

You're vulnerable

There's no place to run

No place to hide

You've been exposed

You're not a little girl anymore

You can't stay away forever

There’s a big bad world out there

Waiting to sallow you whole

And no one can save you but yourself.

Cause You've been exposed

You're vulnerable

There's no place to run

No place to hide

You've been exposed

Whatcha gonna do

There's no place to go

Mommy and daddy aren't there anymore

Turn around and face your life

What else would you rather do?

No one can help you now

You're on your own

Forever more

Take a breath

Please don't drown.

Well, You've been exposed

You're vulnerable

There's no place to run

No place to hide

You've been exposed

You've been exposed-

He drew the last note out with his husky voice. Meanwhile I stood in awe of not only his voice but also the vibe he sent out. I wanted to meet this guy! The sound was totally unlike anything I had ever heard before. It wasn’t new wave yet in a sense it was. It was the music I had been searching for.

After the first song they played for a good two more hours. I listened to the lyrics of each song finding it to be pure wrought human emotion. The songs were about him and he himself. Some guy in a suit who knows how to rhyme hadn’t written them. I nudged Ira.
