A Loving Hate

At times you pretend to care
You have forgotten my love for you
It seems as if I'm not there
When I do love, believe it's true
Sometimes you call me names
Your pain I have endured
With you, life is a playful game
It is your safety I want to ensure
Deep down in me is something real
The things you do anger me greatly
This thing inside me, I wish you could feel
Look beneath my skin, when I cry like a baby
It's what's on the inside that counts
Peer through my eyes deep inside
No one can predict to what your life will amount
Tucked away I have hidden lies
It would be nice to give you a hug
I do now know, what is our fate?
Then again, I could squash you like a bug
What we share is a loving hate.
