Part 61
"I…I still can't believe it," you said, moments after the kiss was ended. "All this time…"
"Yeah," he said, smiling at your still disbelieving face. "I wanted to surprise you."
"Well, it worked," you said. Then you smiled. "I'm glad it was you."
"You were?" he asked. "Rose said you'd been asking about David."
Your smile faded. "I thought it was David…you know, since the whole screen name thing." You looked up at him, smiling. "But, I'm much happier that it was you."
"You sure?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. You giggled. "I'm positive."
"Good then."
"Hey (YNH)!" you looked over. Your coach was over by the team bus, waving you in. "We're leaving. Supper at Alfredo's if your boyfriend wants to come!"
You blushed when you heard your own coach say 'your boyfriend'. Otherwise, she would have forced you to run laps for holding up the team, but apparently she was in a good mood. You turned to Marshall. "You coming?"
"Wouldn't miss it," he smiled, and you ran back to the bus, calling your good-byes.

"I still can't believe it," you said, sipping on your tea. It was a long time after the game, and you had changed into a sleeveless black dress and managed to wash your hair, so that you wouldn't show up at the restaurant looking like a total hooligan.
"Can't believe what?" Marshall asked from across the table, playing with the silverware. You smiled.
"How incredibly perfect my life has worked out for me," you replied, gazing into his eyes. "I've gone from being the lowest I could possibly be, to my state of being right now, all in one year. That's quite a jump, wouldn't you say?"
"True," he said, and then let out a small chuckle. "You know, you have made my senior year so absolutely fantastic…"
You laughed. "Listen to us…we sound like we're on one of those cheesy chick- flicks or something."
"Well, if it's a non-chick flick atmosphere," Marshall said, "what would you like to talk about?"
You thought for a moment. "Before I choose a topic…can I ask you two questions?"
Marshall leaned back in his chair. "Fire away."
"First," you began. "Did you send me the Milagro necklace?"
"Yes," Marshall said. "Rose said you were in to all that 'interesting jewelry' type thing, and I figured it fir you. Plus, it gave me an opportunity to give you something on Valentine's Day, even though I couldn't let on who it was from."
"That which leads me to my second question. Rose…she told me that you were still in town when she called…"
He laughed appreciatively. "So, my spy got you confused, eh?"
"Your spy? Oh, so did all my friends who knew you were before me?"
"No, just Rose," he said. "I figured I could trust her the most out of your friends. No offence to Maggie or Lisa or anything…"
"Hey, I've been friends with them forever. I know Maggie can't exactly keep a secret, and Lisa would probably go tell Kevin." Your eyes widened. "Did Kevin know?"
"Nobody knew except Sean and Rose. I swear."
"Good…I don't like people knowing more about my love life than I…."
"I can tell," he said, reaching over to your face. "Hey, you've got an eyelash on your cheek."
"I do?" you said, and he reached over and plucked it gently from your cheek, where he held it above your lips on his forefinger. "Make a wish."
You thought for a moment then blew it off his finger. "What did you wish for?"
"Can't say," you said smugly.
"You know, (YNH)," Marshall said, leaning toward you. "Wishes do come true."
"Yeah, I know," you smiled as your lips came together. "Believe me, I know."
THATS IT! HAHAHA! ITS OVER WITH. coughs I know, you're all said Milagro's over with. Well, I am writing a sequel, and hopefully can chronical (YNH)'s 4 years through high school (whcih, believe me, get better). Also, for all you Verdraengan fans, Izzabelle is writing Katie and Marshall's wedding, and hopefully, spright and I might be collaberating on Melba and (YNH)'s to make up "The Wedding's of Verdraengan"....that is, if izzabelle does not go completely postal and scream at us and delete the wedding plans we've been making...uh...anyways...
