NOTE: This is really how I feel about someone in my youth group. I may be young, but I know a man of integrity when I see one.
Do You See Me?
By Slick
You know, I'm waiting for 'him',
And I'm almost sure he'll be just like you.
At night, I lay in my bet and pray,
That the man I marry well be you.
I'd say your name,
But I'm afraid it would lose it's magic.
I hope that it's you that in future years I will marry, someday,
I believe that you're just like the man God would have me marry… I really wish you'd notice me and go for it.
I'm right here under your nose,
I'm standing in front of you, will you notice me?
Every time you look my way I'm afraid that you will see,
The way my eyes light up, when you look, do you really see me?
Yeah, sure there are others that come my way,
Some I think that I might like,
But then I remember your face,
And in my mind they all just slip away.
A few other people sometimes persue me,
But I really wish they'd leave,
'zux then you might think I'm attached,
and then what I hope will never be.
In my eyes, your character seems flawless,
But I know there must be on somewhere,,
But all of your smiles and joyful speech,
Don't let me see that they are there.
I know some of the awful things,
That you have gone through in your life,
But you are always happy,
As if everything had been all right.
The problems that I know you've had,
Are a lot like the ones I'm going through now,
And this I have told you,
But how can you be so happy? How?
I really wish you'd see me,
Here back in the corner of the room,
I don't know twhat else I can do to get you to see me,
We say "hi" and then we're through.
I don't know what else to do.
Do you see me?
I see you.
