This was a poem I wrote when I was feeling very moody, and definitely unlike my usual
upbeat poems, this one has a dark side.
And The World Stands Still
The world stands still
Can end it with one jagged little pill
Knowing that breath might be your last
The time for waiting is nearly past
Do you have any guilt or shame?
Things will never be the same
It would never be quite right
Breathing labored and throat getting tight
Darkness overshadowing the light
Wanting to give up on the eternal fight
Trying to get away from the pain and sorrow
Thinking there might not be a tomorrow
And the world stands still.
