EPILOGUE (The real one)

Simui yawned before she awoke. "Simui, are you okay?" Nondel asked quietly.

"Nondel...?" Simui murmured sleepily. "Nondel, is that you?"

"It's me, Simui," Nondel replied, breathing a sigh of relief.

"What... what happened?" Simui moaned, yawning.

"Don't you remember anything?" Nondel asked.

"No," Simui murmured, "Not everything. I remember the ship breaking down, you went below the decks to fix the engine and I went out to repair the hull, and then," Simui suddenly stopped.

"And then?" Nondel asked.

"Then, I felt something pulling me away, like some kind of gale or something," Simui groaned.

"What next?"

"I..." Simui murmured, "I don't remember... but next thing I know, I'm here with you..." she trailed off softly.

Nondel breathed, completely relieved. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

"A little woozy," Simui moaned, "I've got a little bit of a headache too."

"Well, thank God you're okay," Nondel sighed. "The sooner we get back to X, the better."

They flew through space a little longer in silence before Simui asked, "Nondel, where's our ship?"

"Gone," Nondel said.

"Gone where?" Simui asked.

"It's best we leave it where it is," Nondel muttered.

"Why's that?"

Nondel sighed deeply to himself. "Simui, you'd never believe me if I told you..."
