Dialogue with a stranger:

"What the hell do you want from me?"

"Nothing, everything."

"That doesn't make any sense! How can you want nothing and everything all at once?"

"I never said that I wanted them all at once."

"But you just said . . . ."

"I said what you wanted me to say."

"You're confusing."

"Confusion comes before clarity"

"Stop being so damn cryptic will you?"

"Then what would you have me say?"

"Tell me what you want from me!"

"I told you already, do you want to hear it again?"

"NO! Why do you talk in riddles?"

"I don't talk in riddles, I speak clearly with meaning. You're just not asking me the right questions."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"It means what it means, your understanding of it is not necessary."

"Who are you?"

"A ghost."

"Where did you come from?"

"The sea."

"This isn't helping. You're not telling me anything useful or important."

"Ahhh, but I did."

"No you didn't. I asked you where you come form and you said, 'The sea'. I asked you who you are and you said, 'A ghost'. That tells me nothing about what you want from me."

"As I have said before, you are not asking the right questions."

"God Damn It! Stop speaking to me like that! I am not a child."

"Do you think that I treat you like a child?"

"Yes! You answer my questions with riddles and cryptic words."

"If I treat you like at child, then ultimately you must be a child."

"But I'm not! I am fully grown and mature!"

"Physically yes you are. Mentally, you are not."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean."

"It means what it means."

"Stop doing that!"

"Doing what?"

"Stop saying, 'It means what it means.' I don't understand it!"

"It's quite clear. The words hold meanings. The meanings hold the words. It is simple."

"It is not simple! If it was simple I wouldn't be so frustrated trying to understand you!"

"Then you are trying too hard."

"Why won't you answer me?"

"You haven't asked anything."

"OK, a direct question with no loopholes for you to evade me with."

"If you wish."

"What is it that you want most in the world."

"That doesn't help."

"It does and it doesn't."

"Your doing it again."

"Doing what?"

"Being cryptic."

"I do because I am."

"You are what?"

"You forget your own answers. You are a child."

"My own answers. What answers I don't have any answers!"

"Why do you keep saying that?"

"Because you tell me to."

"I don't tell you anything."

"You tell me a great deal. You just don't know it yet."

"I hate talking to you."

"Then why do you continue?"

"I don't know."

"But you do."

"NO I DON'T! Why don't you just leave?"

"Do you wish me to leave?"

"YES! No . . . wait."

"Choose your answer."

"I can't."

"Yes you want me to stay. No you wish me to leave. It is your choice."

"Who are you?"

"Do you wish me to stay or leave?"

". . . . . . Stay."

"Your wish is my wish."

". . . . . . . . . . . ."

"Who are you? Please, tell me."

"Everyone, no one, someone."

"That doesn't help."

"Was it supposed to?"

"Yes, I want to know who you are."

"You know who I am."

"I don't! Please tell me."

"What do you think when you look at me?"

"You're older than I am, your eyes say that you are tired."

"Very perseptive. What else do you see in me?"

"There's something beneath the surface, you - you're scared of somthing."

"What is it."

"The sea."

"But you said you came from the sea. How can you be afaid of your home?"

"I never said it was my home."

"But you came from the sea?"

"Yes, a sea of sorts."

"What is it's name?"

"Time, eternaty - past, present, and future. It has many names."

"More riddles?"

"If you say so."

"Then it's not a riddle?"

"Nothing I have said to you has been a riddle."

"Stop that! Give me a straight answer."

"Ask the right questions."

"The right questions?! The right questions!?"

"Stop shouting at me."

"Ha! Why should I do anything you say? You treat me like a child, and your answers don't make any sense to me."

"They will."

"When? When will I understand?"

"Do you wish to?"

"YES! Yes of course I do."

"Then shut off the rational part of your mind, and listen to everything I say."

"This has nothing to do with being rational or irrational. You appear, and won't give me a straight answer or reason to what you want or why you are here. You tell me things I will never understand and expect me to listen to you even though I have no reason to."

"I have given you a reason. You just have to grasp it."

"God damn it! Stop speaking to me like that!"

"How would you have me speak to you?"

"You said that already."

"Have I?"

"Are you going to continue to repeat yourself?"

"I have only repeated what I had to."

"Just give me a straight answer."

"I have, but if you insist . . . Ask what you want."

"You said that you are a ghost."

"Why are you a ghost?"

"My time is not now."

"That doesn't help."

"Should it have?"

"Ok, Let me try this again. Are you dead?"

"Then you are alive/"

"But you're not dead. So that means you are alive."

"No, I have yet to live."

"Another riddle?"

"If you think it is."

"Look at me. Please?"

"As you wish."

"My god, your eyes . . ."

"My eyes."

"They're like voids, endless voids. So old . . ."

"Old . . . . . . You could say that."

"Who are you?"

"You know who I am."

"No I don't."

"Let go of your rationality. Stop using your brain. This will only confuse you."

"My rationality . . . . . . . ?"

"Do you know now?"

"How is it even possible?"

"Everything is possible, it just seems improbable."

"You can't be! You are not! You don't even look remotly. . . . ."

"See me with your heart and not your mind. Your mind isn't able to comprhend."

"My god, YOU ARE!"

"Say it."

"Your me!"
