THE MOON

Walk out into the chilly evening.

Stare at the night sky.

The clouds feel dark and heavy,

But the stars are twinkling by.

The evening feels so much better,

Than was the afternoon!

Just then you spot something and smile,

For you can see the moon.

The moon is quite round like a big pie plate,

Or maybe the cookie you yesterday ate.

It has heard both joy and tears.

It also has heard bravery and fears.

It looks so glamorous,

That it can come as a shock,

That it really is -

Just a big piece of rock!

But this piece of rock,

That is so gigantic,

Gives the silver moonlight,

That makes me feel romantic.
